Golden Glimpses
As springtime approaches
with beckoning hands,
And the promise of things
"born anew, "
And Easter draws near with
its myriad of plans,
Just what does it mean to
you?
As the days and weeks race
by, one has hardly time to
finish what they have begun,
and it is time to begin again.
Film night was changed to
Monday evening instead of
Tuesday due to other commit-
ments. The film shown was
"The Royal Journey, " which
showed Princess Elizabeth and
Prince Philip on a tour of Can-
ada and the United States
prior to the coronation.
On Wednesday evening the
residents enjoyed an evening
of bingo. Don't forget the film
"That Funny Feeling" which is
open to the public and will be

With fan belts, as with
trousers, shininess means
excessive wear. Worn belts can
mean overheating.
Year in and year out, about
nine out of ten accidents
involve the violation of at least
one law.
You can prolong the life of
your air cleaner filter by
taking the paper element from
its housing and blowing the
dirt out with compressed air.
When starting your car on a
cold morning, make sure lights
and all accessory switches are
off until the engine is running.

The sympathy of the resid-
ents and staff is extended to the
family of the late Mrs. Alice
Crandon who has been a resid-
ent here for almost three years,
and passed away this past week,
Get well wishes are extendec
to two of our staff members,
Mrs. Beatrice Faber, who is
in South 1-luron Hospital, Exeter
and Mrs. Alexin Dietrich who
is being treated in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. We hope
their recovery will be a speedy
one.
On Sunday evening, Rev.
Douglas Warren of Crediton
United Church had charge of
the Chapel Service, accomp-
anied by the organist and choir,
The music rendered by the
choir and their assistance in
the singing of the hynins was
greatly appreciated by the res-
idents.
As I write this, two young
men from the village, Don
Oesch and David Siebert, are
here in the hobby shop engaged
in a game of shuffle board with
some of our gentlemen. As 1
ducked in and out to see how
the game was progressing, I
was convinced that the young
fellows were enjoying the
afternoon equally as much as
their elderly opponents. Per-
haps we have other young
people in the community with
a bit of spare time on their
hands and would find an after-
noon or evening of games with
our residents quite rewarding.
