Married in Emmanuel Churc'h, Zurich
Emmanuel United Church,
Zurich, decorated with baskets
of pink carnations, white gladi-
ola and mums was the setting
for the double -ring ceremony
of Bonnie Lorraine Neeb and
Donald Arthur Schenk, with
Rev. J. Huether officiating, at
3 p.m„ March 6, 1971.
The bride is the eldest daught
er of Mr. and Mrs. Glen H.
Neeb, of Zurich, and the groom
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ger-
ald Schenk, .of Crediton,
The bride, escorted down the
aisle by her father, was charm-
ing in a floor -length empire
styled gown of white satin with
lace bodice, collar, and belle
sleeves. The A-line skirt was
complimented by its cathedral
length train which draped
gracefully from the mid -back
to the floor. Chantilly lace
appliques provided a delicate
trim.
The brides tierred headpiece
of lace petals was adorned with
crystal drops and illusion veil
interspered with tiny seed pearls
She wore a tiny pearl and dia-
mond necklace with ear ring
set, a gift from the groom, and
carried a bouquet of pink roses
centred by a pink orchid cor-
sage with pink streamers desc-
ending from the bouquet.
Marilyn Pfaff, of Dashwood,
was maid of honor and chose
a floor length blue satin gown
with gold trim accentuating
the collar, empire waistline
and bottom of sleeves. She
wore a blue head piece with
gold trim and carried a bouquet
of pink carnations.
Donald Averill brother-in-law
of the groom was best man
while Murray McAdams and
John Beierling ushered the guests
and Mrs. Milton Oesch perform-
ed the wedding music.
Receiving guests at the Dash-
wood Community Centre the
bride's mother wore a pale blue
dress with black accessories
with a pink carnation corsage.
The groom's mother assisted,
wearing a light brown dress with
gold trim aid black accessories,
with a corsage of pink carnation
For travelling the bride chose
a light blue pant suit with gold
trim and a pink orchid corsage.
The young couple will reside
in Exeter. The groom is emp-
loyed at Boise Cascade, Hen-
sall and the bride at La-Ves-ta
Beauty Salon, Dashwood.
Guests at the wedding were
present from Guelph, Newbury,
Glencoe, Petrolia, Crediton,
Appin, Windsor and Dashwood.
Prior to her wedding the bride
was entertained at several
showers, Mrs. Bernice and
Hilda McAdams were hostesses
for a miscellaneous shower at
the town hall in Zurich, and
Mrs. Frank Rainey was hostess
in her home for a miscellaneous
shower in Glencoe.

er celebrated their 58th wedd-
ing anniversary March 11, with

dinner with all the trimmings.
LADIES AID
The March meeting of Zion
Lutheran Ladies Aid was a bus-
iness meeting following the
Lenten Service which served
as the topic, "The Passover
Lamb."
The president, Mrs, Jim
Hayter dealt with the business.
The altar guild reported 16
calls and the new guild is Mrs,
Ernest Koehler and Mrs. Rein-
hold Miller. Group three were
reminded that they had the
lunch to serve following Henry
Weiberg's funeral, Easter lilies
are to be purchased for the altar
The card secretary had sample
cards on display. The ladies
were reminded of the prayer
service March 29.

The United Church Women
of Calvary United church held
their March meeting Tuesday
afternoon March 9 with Syd
Baker chairlady, She opened
the meeting with a prayer fol-
lowed by the scripture read
responsively and the Lord's
Prayer,
Mrs, Mervyn Tiernan read
the story behind the song, "Let

In Barn Fire On
14th Concession
Fire Saturday destroyed a
barn and more than 100 hogs on
the Hay Township farm of Wil-
lis Walper, about 21/2 miles
northwest of Dashwood.
Dashwood Fire Chief Gerald
Martene said Sunday the cause
of the fire is being investigated
He estimated total damage
could reach $15, 000, The loss
was partially covered by insur-
ance.
Mr. and Mrs. Walper were
away at the time of the blaze.
The fire alarm was turned in
by neighbours.
Chief Martene said the barn
was engulfed in flames when
his men arrived. Firemen
saved a nearby, smaller barn.
It contained about 25 hogs
which neighbors had freed.
The farm house, several
hundred feet from the barn was
not danaged. The fire was not-
iced about 1:25 p.m.

made as a boat trip to the West
Indies and Trinidad. Mrs, Syd
Baker conducted a cross -word

Mrs. Don Geiser conducted
the business. It was decided to
hold a Daffodil Tea May 5.
Pall bearers for the late
Henry Weiberg were Lloyd
Willett, Louis Weigand, How-
ard Maier, Harry Ilayter, Leon-
ard Restemayer, and Garnet

David Rader and friend spent
the weekend at Manitoulin with
Erwin Eagleson.
