Grand Bend Group
The United Church Women
of Emmanuel United Church,
Ztrich, entertained the ladies
of Grand Bend United Church
and Church of God, at their
March meeting, with "Easter"
as the chosen theme. Mrs.
Beatrice Rader opened the
meeting with a poem entitled
"He was alone. " Several hymns
were sung and prayer was offer-
ed by Mrs. Menno Steckle.
Mrs. Sam Hey read the
scripture taken from Mark 14,
verses 32-42. A poem, "Price
of a Soul" was read by Mrs.
Newell Geiger.
Mrs. Bullock and Mrs. Ward
Neeb favoured with two duets
accompanied by Mrs. Steckle
on the piano.
Mrs. Steckle, who presented
the address, very fittingly
chose "Gardens" as her topic
and pointed out three gardens
mentioned in the Bible, namely
Garden of Decision (Eden);
Garden of Crises (Gethsemane);
Garden of Victory (Lamb).
Closing hymn was led Eby
Miss Meda Surerus. The presid-
ent showed the quilts the ladies
had made during the winter.
A social half hour was enjoyed
which was followed by a short
business meeting for the memb-
ers, led by the president.
