attended the 62nd annual
Hydro Convention at the Royal
York Hotel, Toronto, last week.
Miss Sharon Rader spent sev-
eral days with Mr, and Mrs.
Fred Miller and family last week
Zion.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Restemay-
er are celebrating their 58th
wedding anniversary today,
Thursday, March 11.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Maine,
Kitchener, spent a few days
with Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold
Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller
and Miss Janet Miller, Waterloo,
spent the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Miller.
Mr. Art Haugh is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
where he underwent surgery.
Mrs. Haugh is spending some
time in London with her daught-
er and family, M. and Mrs.
Joe Hartman.
Larry Steinman out -going
president of the U. W, O, student
council is returning to Zion
Lutheran Church, Tuesday,
March 16, for a special meeting
with Zion Young people and
their friends.
David Rader, James Becker
and six other snowmobilers from
the area spent several days
snowmobiling in the Parry Sound
district.
Mrs. Frederick H. Dixon of
Dounds St. London, passed
away at Victoria Hospital,
Thursday, March 4. She was
the former Clara Marie Martene,
Surviving besides her husband
are four daughters and eight
grandchildren.
The funeral was held from
the Needham funeral home,
Saturday with interment in
Woodland cemetery.

Obituary
MRS. THOMAS DINSMORE
Mrs. Thomas Dinsmore, a
resident of Hay Township for
many years, passed away at
South Huron Hospital, on Tues-
day, March 2, in her 75th year.
She was the former Mary Jane
Grey Douglas, a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas.
Mrs. Dinsmore was born in
Stanley Township on June 3, 189E
and was married on December
23, 1919. Her husband pre -dec-
eased her some years ago.
Surviving is one son, James,
R. R. 2, Zurich.
The funeral service was held
on Friday, March 5, at the
Westlake Funeral Home, Zurich,
with interment in Bayfield Cem-
etery.

for the project "Separates for
Summer" with the leaders, Mrs.
Gordon Bender and Mrs, Lloyd
Beaver held their organizational
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Bender. Officers are; president,
Beverley Stire; vice-president,
Miriam Rasenberg; secretary,
Carol Masse; treasurer and press
reporter, Judy Guy. The girls
decided to call their club,
"Dashwood Darting Seamsters."
at their second meeting instruct-
ion on using and altering the
patterns were given the. 14 mem-
bers. The girls are to have their
material and patterns for the
next meeting.
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The March meeting of Dash-
wood Women's Institute was
held Tuesday, March 2, with
the Home Economics and Health
group in charge and Mrs. John
Rader convenor. Roll call was
answered by giving a "Health
Rule in our House, " Mrs. Earl
Keller discussed the motto ,
":There is no better exercise
for the heart than reaching out
to help others." Mrs. John Rader
read a poem, -"Who is Delinq-
uent?" Cathy Becker favoured
with two piano solos.
Guest speaker was Public
Health Nurse, Mrs. Gerald Mar-
tene. She showed a film on
drugs followed by a talk and
distributed pamphlets to the
ladies.
President, Mrs. Howard Maier
dealt with the business. A birth-
day gift was sent to the sponsor-
ed girl in India. Bring 500 gift
to next meeting for your secret
pal, also bring annual reports.
The Institute members and husb-
ands will dine and tour Dashwood
Industries, April 27 at 6:30 p.m.
The Fall Fair list was read. The
;short course on needlecraft will
be held April 20 and 21 at Dash-
wood Community Centre. The
Institute will canvass for the
Red Cross.
SOCIAL EVENING
The choir of Calvary United
Church held a social evening at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
McCrae, Wednesday, March 3.
The evening was spent playing
billiards arid darts,
Officers for the year elected
'are; president, Jack Gaiser, vice,
president, Stanley I-Iaist; secret-
ary, Mrs. Lloyd Guenther.
Social committee, Mrs. Jack
Gaiser, Mrs. Don Bender, and
Norma Weigand. Lunch brought
the evening to a close.

Officials of the Pineridge
Chalet near Hensall reported this
week that the total profits from
their recent Crippled Children's
weekend were $746.68.
The monies will be donated
to the London Crippled
Children's Treatment Centre.
The proceeds from a similar
' event a year ago were $348.

A saintly -looking old fellow
was running to catch his bus.
Just as he appeared to be win-
ning the race, the bus driver,
with a fiendish smirk, pulled
away from the curb and the
wheels splashed muddy water
over the old rnan.
Softly, the old gentleman
murmured: a •May his soul
find peace." S...1 more softly,
he added: ,,And the sooner the
better."
