Legion Ladies Auxiliary presented a cheque for $200 to the Legion, to help in their various projects. Goshen UCW Discuss South A Mrs. Bob McKinley opened Goshen United Church Women's meeting with a poem "Don't blame the children. " The meet• ing was held at the home of Mrs. Keith McBride, Thursday night, .February 18. Hymn 662 was sung and Psalm 130 was read by Mrs. Arnold Keys, with comments and pray- er by Mrs. Bob Peck. Mrs. Howard Armstrong and Mrs. Floyd Armstrong gave int- eresting reports from Presbyter- ial in Mitchell on February 17. A South American diary was the topic given by Mrs. Bob .n.fi R Gil erica McKinley, which was very interesting. Business was conducted by Mrs. Arnold Keys. Minutes were read, and roll call answ- ered with a verse on love. A Thank -you card was read from Mrs. Ethel McBride. Mrs. Roy McBride read a letter of thanks from Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnston for the money sent to them. An invitation to Varna for the World Day of Prayer on March 5, was accepted. Our leaders are Mrs. Neeb and Mrs. Finkbeiner. The president is Debbie Den- ornme; secretary- Mary Anne Groot; treasurer, Cathy Cyr, and Press Reporter, Theresa Lansbergen. Our first discussion was on style. We ended the meeting at 9:30 p.m. Golden Glimpses p 0 • at BWRH From all reports, March roared in some of the areas around and about us, but right here, the weather stayed quite clear, so here's hoping we don't have to pay up for it later on. Monday and Tuesday evening our film "Ma & Pa Kettle on Old MacDonald's Farm" was shown, along with a feature film, "The Rascals." Both adults and child- ren appeared to have enjoyed these humorous films, and we are making plans to have anoth- er film sometime towards the end of March, so watch our column for further information. Bingo was played as usual on Thursday evening, and we are grateful to the members of the Ladies Auxiliary who come to assist with the bingo. The sympathy of the Residents and staff is extended to the fam- ily of the late Mr. Garnet Flynn who passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital last week, and the family of the late Mrs. Ellen Boyes who passed away here at the home on Sunday. Mrs. Boyes will be missed by all of us as she was always a willing particip' ant in all of our activities in the Horne. Rev. Kalbfleisch of Zurich conducted the chapel service Sunday evening. We welcome Mrs. Emma Shepherd of Hensall who has taken up residency here. 0 Health Unit Gets Two More Nurses A geriatrics nurse to work with the elderly citizens in Huron County and a nurse to work in the field and drug and alcohol addiction have been approved for the Huron County Health Unit this year. A bid for a fourth public health inspector and a total dental program was rejected. The additional nurses will cost $11, 650 representing about two-thirds costs for a year since the nurses will not be working in the county for a full 12 mon- ths in 1971. Council cut from the budget $6, 300 for a sanitary inspector and about $11, 000 for the increa sed dental program. Total budget will be $209, 462.28 for regular program; $53, 700 for program begun in 1970 and continuing in 1971; and $11, 650 for new program. The total proposed budget was $294, 041.
