TODAY'S CHILD
BY HELEN ALLEN
Glen is eight, doing good work in Grade 3. This young
boy's high potential is being realized, for his last report
showed him at the top of his class.
Glen is a good-looking slender lad with blue eyes, brown
hair and fair skin. He is healthy and extremely active, with
a great zest for sports. He plays hockey, baseball and la-
crosse, usually with boys both older and bigger than him-
self. Last year he was, the winner of a lacrosse award.
Glen loves reading and his interests go beyond his
school work. Just now he's studying the moon and stars on
his own. He is imaginative and creative. He has done puppet.
shows at school, making up the plot as he goes along and
himself being the voice of every puppet. He is pleasant and
co-operative and has many friends.
This young boy needs parents who will give him love
and educational opportunities, and help to channel his.
energies constructively. To inquire about adopting Glen,
please write to Today's Child, Department of Social and
Family Services, Parliament Buildings, Toronto 182. For
general adoption information, ask your Children's Aid Soci-
ety.

Warns of Snow
On Arena Roofs
A warning was issued today that
avow piled on the roofs of arenas
could be dangerous.
H. Y. Yoneyama, Executive
Director of Safety and Technical
Services Division of the Ontario
Department of Labour, said that
heavy snow should be removed
from all arena roofs immediately.
He said he was concerned that
rain predicted in the next two
days could add to the weight of
the snow and cause it to exceed
the capabilities of the buildings.
Snowfalls throughout Ontario
are generally higher this season
than in normal years, according
to a climatologist at the Canada
Weather Bureau. To date, Toronto
has received 57.5 inches of snow,
2.6 inches higher than the total
for the average winter season.
"One Way I can Set An Example
as a citizen,," brought forth many
suggestions such as being a law
abiding citizen, devoting, doing
things in the community and mind-
ing your own business.
The motto, "It is what you
learn after you know it all that
counts," was prepared by Mrs.
Campbell Eyre and read by Mrs.
Glenn Bell.
Plans were made for the Legion
banquet to be held in the Legion
Hall, February 26. Mrs. Al Hog-
garth conducted a contest and
lunch was served by Mrs. Kinsman
and the committee.
