After another rather blustery
week, we hope you enjoyed a
pleasant St. Valentine's Day.
Films were shown on Monday
evening because of the Board
meeting on Tuesday. The mov-
ies shown were "The Prowlers
of the Everglades." This was a
picture of the wild life and
under water creatures, native
of Florida, and pictures of
Canada's Centennial Band Tat-
toos.
The monthly birthday party
which was to be held had to be
cancelled because of the incle-
ment weather, and will be held
this coming week. On Thursday
evening, the residents were
entertained by a Youth Group
of the Mennonite Faith from the
area of Mitchell and surround-
ing community, under the
leadership of Mr. Herman
Giesbrecht. The residents
enjoyed the musical program,
McCann Const.

followed by a social half hour.
We are grateful to this group
who ventured out over the drift-
ing roads to present this prog-
ram.
On Sunday evening, the Chap
el service was conducted by Rev
Harold Dobson, of Grand Bend
United Church, accompanied
by Miss Idella Gabel on piano.
The sympathy of the residents
and staff is extended to the
family of the late Mrs. Mien
Burney, formerly of the Forest
area, who passed away here at
the Home.
A speedy recovery is wished
for Mr. Thomas Kyle, at South
Huron Hospital, and Mrs. Marg-
aret Swatridge and Mr. Garnet
Flynn, who are patients at
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Don't forget our "Ma & Pa
Kettle" film next Monday and
Tuesday evening, February 22
and 23.

Harrison Schoch is a patient
in Victoria Hospital, London,
where he underwent surgery.

Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Meyers.
MUSIC RESULTS
Miss Audrey Gingerich, daught-
er of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ging-
erich, has passed her grade six
piano, with honors, from the
Royal Conservatory of Music in
Toronto. She is a pupil of Mrs.
Harold Stade, Zurich.

The Assessment Personnel of the Huron -Perth
Regional Assessment Office will be starting the re-
appraisal of the Township of Hay commencing the
the week of February 15th, 1971.
To complete this mammoth task, I, the under-
signed, solicit your co-operation to finish this under-
taking in the shortest possible time. All members
of my staff are earring identification cards which
will be presented on contact. You will facilitate the
Assessor in his work by allowing him to measure
the exterior of your buildings and giving him free
access to inspect the interior of your buildings. The
thorough inspection of all properties is necessary
in order that property owners can be equitably as-
sessed.

Craft Ekhibit at
Clinton High School
Arrangements have been
made through the Youth and
Recreation Branch of the Ont-
ario Department of Education
to have a display of Contemp-
orary Crafts at Clinton Pulic
School from March 1 to 19.
This exhibit is travelling
throughout Ontario and at the
present time is in London Public
Library.
"It is to bring culture to
Huron County, " stated James
Coulter, superintendent of ed-
ucation.
"More and more Canadians
are becoming interested and
involved in,crafts and this is a
sample of some of the outstand-
ing work that they are doing, "
said Coulter. "It includes ob-
jects executed in wood, cera-
mics, metal, glass, fabrics
and leather. "
The general public is cord-
ially invited to visit this display
and arrangements can be made
to observe it either during or
after school hours by contacting
Mr. Coulter at the board's
Clinton office.
It is intended that the school
will remain open at least one
evening each week. Teachers
will be encouraged to persue
the articles early in the first
week and subsequently plan
visits with pupils.
OBITUARY
NORMAN W . DICKERT
Norman W. Dickert, of
Exeter, formerly of I<ippen,
died at South Huron Hospital,
February 9, 1971 in his 70th
year. He was the 'husband of
the former Ida Meier.
Also surviving is a daughter,
Mrs. Ken (Merle) McLellan,
Kippen, and brothers Emmer-
son and Ervin, of Clifford and
sister, Mrs. Alex Murray, of
Waterloo, and Mrs. Edgar Wahl
of Listowel, and two grand-
daughters, Jill and Bobyn.
The body rested at the Bon-
thron Funeral Chapel, Hensall,
until Thursday, February 11,
when the funeral was conducted
from St. Andrews United Churcl
Kippen at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers were Bob Mc-
Gregor, Emmerson.K.yle. John
Sinclair, Arie Binnendyk, Joe
McLellan.
