An invit- ation was received from Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter, to attend their Dessert Euchre to be held in the near future. Members are invited. Owing to bad weather conditions Miss Marian Russell was unable to attend to present her pictures, a later date will be set. After the meeting members celebrated their 22nd birthday anniversary with seven tables of euchre, and the winners were: ladies, Mrs. Percy Campbell, Mrs, Ray Consitt; Men, Ray Consitt, Percy Campbell; Lone Hands, Clar- ence Volland, The C, P. & T. committee will hold a euchre Thursday, February 18, with proceeds for service work. Correspondent: Maude Redden LEGION AUXILIARY First vice-president Mrs. H. Smale presided for the February meeting of the Hensall Legion Auxiliary on Tuesday, February 2. Two new members, Mrs. Harry Klungel and Mrs. Lawrence Uyl, were installed by past pres- ident Mrs. Garnet Allan. Members will canvass for the Red Cross in March. A draw on a hamper of Easter groceries will be held in April, with proceeds to aid the Crippled Children's Treatment Centre. Mrs. Clar- ence Reid is convenor of this project. Mystery prize was won by Mrs. R. Vanstone; guessing, Mrs. J. Randall; attendance, Mrs. Mary Taylor. Bingo was played and lunch served. Michael Hoy, who is attendin€ Waterloo University received notice this week that he would receive a Huron County Bursary award in the amount of $100. This award is given by the County of Huron to a student from. Huron County who is chos- en by the University where he is attending and is in recognition of the excellent work done by the student. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry i-loy. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Deeves, of Sarnia, formerly of Clinton, will celebrate their 50th wed- ding anniversary at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jackson, 107 Inkerman Street, London, on Saturday, February 13. There will be Open !louse in the aft- ernoon from two to four, and in the evening from seven to nine. The celebrant is a brother of Asa Deeves, of Hensall. Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Louis MacKay, of Berkley, California, who passed away Wednesday, Febru- ary 3. The Explorer Purpose and Motto was recited . The scripture lesson was read by Miss Brenda Dowson, prayer by Bonnie Dowson, Sylvia Wil- son read the minutes and the rol: call was answered by naming a favorite winter bird.
