thin meat of cattle slaughtered
because there was no vegetation
to sustain them. The country
was full of the horrors endured
during the winter of a year's
duration. We know that some
of the people in our area have
endured hardships during this
past week of extreme weather,
and even though the groundhog
must be having a real good look
at his shadow this sunny morning,
let's hope that winter will soon
start to taper off.

moderator. Others under attack
have been Rev. Bruce Guy and
Bruce Perry. A snowmobile party
is planned for February.
Due to the storm last weep,
all events were cancelled, people
didn't go visiting, but snow-
bound people visited with friends
they hadn't called on for years.
Many stories carne out of the
storm --some a bit exaggerated.
Pupils were forced to stay in
schools, ate what was available.
They couldn't be choosey.
Dashwood perhaps had the
greatest mortality rate. Thous-
ands of chickens died when the
truck they were being transported
in got stuck, and they troze.
Those snowmobiles which so
many people condemn were just
wonderful, transporting people,
food, and supplies and the driv-
ers deserve medals for driving
them in such weather.
