Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoffman spent the weekend at Guelph with Mr. and Mrs. Bud Desjard- ine. Saturday evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Boyle and family were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roddy and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnston, and family, all of Sarnia. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hayter ac- companied by Charles Tiernan, of Exeter spent the weekend at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with Jim Hayter junior. Those snowmobiles which so many people condemn were just wonderful, transporting people, food, and supplies and the driv- ers deserve medals for driving them in such weather. 0 GUEST MISSIONER Rev. Norman Berner, of Kit- chener, will be guest missioner at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, during the week of Feb- ruary 7 to 10, each evening at 8 p.m. He is the assistant to the president of the Eastern Canada Synod of the Lutheran Church in America, as well as serving as secretary. Born in Guelph, Rev. Berner graduated from Waterloo College and Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. After serving for seven years as pastor of the Lutheran Church in Brantford -Woodstock, he turned to duties with the Canada Synod, including some time as manager of the Lutheran Church Supply Store in Kitchener. Ile has also served as an observer consultant at the General Com- mission or Church Union. At present he is also a synod staff official on the Lutheran Church in America Board of American Missions.
