Zurich Citizens News, 1971-01-21, Page 5THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 1971 ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS Wedding MENNELL - ROBERTS The candlelight wedding ceremony of Margaret Marian Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E, L Roberts, Kippen and Robert Charles Mennell, son of Mrs. Mary Mennell, Seaforth, was solemenized at St. Timothy Anglican Church, London, Jan- uary 15, at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Fairhead officiated at the double -ring ceremony, Miss Stanton furnished the organ music. The church was decorat- ed with yellow mums and carn- ations. Large white satin bows marked the quest pews. Ginven in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor - length velvet gown of deep purple, semi -empire waist line with high neck-line trimmed with mauve flowerettes, a large flowing bow on the back and leg -o' -mutton sleeves. Matching velvet ribbon bows woven in her hair and silver shoes compl- eted her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of one dozen yellow roses and fern. Attending the bride were Misses Lynda Proctor, London and Catherine Roberts, Kipper, sister of the bride. They were attired alike in floor- length dark green velvet gowns trim- med with mauve flowerettes matching the brides. They car- ried "long-stemmed" yellow roses enter -twined with green ferns. Best man was Roy Mennell, brother of the groom and ushers were Jim Roberts, brother of the bride and Paul McKellar, Sea - forth, Following the ceremony, the wedding reception was held in the parish hall with the ladies of the church catering. Receiv- ing the guests, the bride's moth- er wore a winter -white dress trimmed with silver and match- ing accessories. The groom's mother wore a mint green dress trimmed with gold metalic and matching accessories, They both wore corsages of pink carn- ations. For travelling, the bride wore a violet polyester crepe dress topped with a black lace vest and matching accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The happy couple will reside at 25 Orchard Street, London. Zurich Women's Institute View Antique 'Collection at Meeting Thirty members and friends of the Zurich Women's Institute met at the home of Peter Deichert, with Mrs. Rose Mern- er as hostess. Members had the pleasure of viewing many antiq- ues in Mr. Deichert's collection, Mrs. T. Meyers was the con- venor of the program which had for it's theme, "Public Relations." She asked, "What is public relations?" "The reas- on we are here to -day is main- ly because of public relations, because we are all friends reg- ardless of race, colorcreed, rich or poor. The condition the world is in today indicates that we must all strive to work for the right and peace for every- one."
