For all of his four months he's been rather a sober boy, but the smiles are coming more often and are worth waiting for. Davey looks like an East Indian baby. His background is really West Indian and Anglo-Saxon. He has straight silky hair with a tiny bit of curl at the back, beautiful big dark eyes and light tan skin. He is healthy, active and quite strong. He loves to have his legs free so he can kick and he's fascinated by his own hands, which he finds more interesting than any toy. You can see his eyes are fixed on his hand more than on the camera. .. Davey is easy to look after because he's a good eater and sleeps right through the night. He likes to be cuddled and he loves attention, but doesn't demand it. This baby will be a fine son for a couple wanting to share as many milestones as possible with their little boy. To inquire about adopting Davey please write to Today's Child, Department of Social and Family Services, Parlia- ment Buildings, Toronto 182. For general adoption informa- tion, ask your Children's Aid Society, Water System and Waste Management Major Projects In Stephen Township At the inaugural meeting of way 21 including Oakwood, Stephen Township council held last Tuesday, Reeve Joseph Dietrich outlined two of the major projects facing the munic- ipality in 1971. Dietrich who moves up from the Deputy -Reeve position to replace retiring Reeve James Hayter said finalizing the water system and the waste manage- ment problem would be rhe big items to be handled by his coun- cil. The Ontario Municipal Board last fall turned down a request by the township to establish a water system at the westerly end of Stephen after a hearing was held in Crediton. Stephen has asked the OMB for a new hearing into the matter. No decision has been made as yet on reopening the matter. The original request was ap- parently turned down because no briefs were received by the OMB supporting the request to establish a water system. Council members were baf- fled by this as they had under- stood only objections were to be presented. The water system would serve all summer subdiv- isions on the west side of high- Kingsmere, Sunnyside and Maple Grove along with some properties on the east side of the road between the Grand Bend limits and highway 83. In his opening address Diet- rich thanked James Hayter for his service to the township. He listed building of the new mun- icipal office and an addition to the township sheds as some of the major accomplishments under Hayter's administration.. A new scale of remuneration for council members was adopt- ed whereby pay will be mainly based on meetings attended rather than a basic salary. Every member of council will receive $15. for each regular and special meeting plus 10¢ per mile for travelling. In addition honorariums of $200 (continued on page 14) ANNUAL MEETING OF THE Zurich Agricultural Society will be held in the Hay Township Hall, Zurich ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27, 1971 AT 1:30 P.M. MRS.
