A CHRISTMAS POEM
Ceaser Augustus sent a decree,
For everyone to be taxed you see,
So Mary, and Joseph went down,
To be taxed in Bethlehem Town
They searched for an inn, but
they weren't able,
To find one so they used a stable.
It was on this blessed morn,
That Jesus Christ our Lord was
born.
They wrapped him in swaddling
clothes they say,
And laid him in a bed of hay.
In the country shepherds did abide
Keeping their sheep close bytheir
side,
When an angel of the Lord came
down.
And Glory shone all around.
"Fear not, " the angel said to their.
"For in the town of Bethlehem,
In a manger on some hay,
There the little, King shall lay, "
The shepherds hurried to see the
sight,
And crowded around with great
delight.
Then they went to spread the worc
To the people who hadn't heard.
There were three kings who saw
a star,
And they followed it from afar.
They crossed the desert and it led,
Them to the tiny manager bed.

Enjoying Pudding
In Denmark and Norway
the legendary good spirit of
the house is Nisse, who
watches over home and farm
and is sometimes said to be
the gift -bringer, too.
His Christmas treat, the
rice pudding traditional at
Scandinavian holiday feasts,
is placed beside the kitchen
door or, on farms, in the hay-
loft.
