Mrs. James McAllister presided. Members answered the roll cal] with a gift for the Christmas stocking for Goderich hospital. Mrs. R. M. Peck reported on the Bazaar and Christmas Fair at Huioriview. Mrs. William Brint- nell reported for the sick and shut- ins. The 4-H Achievement Day will be held January 9, in Zurich, Meeting of the Mentally Retarded Association will be held in Exet- er, December 23. Plans were made for a euchre in the Legion Hall, January 21, Proceeds for the Winter Carnival. Mrs. Peck gave a report of the district executive meeting. Mrs. Carl Payne chaired the program which included piano duets by Nancy and Barbara McCurdy,. readings, Mrs. Albert Shirray; piano selections, Jack Caldwell; films by Bill Fuss, and a contest with winners being Mrs. Alma Hess, Mrs. Sherritt, Mrs. W. Dilling, Mrs. Grace Harpole, Mrs. Harry Horton, Mrs. R, A. Orr, Mrs. John Skea. Gifts were presented to the 4-H leaders, Mrs. William Fuss and Mrs. Don Travers, and Mrs. Peck was presented with a gift. Mrs. Elizabeth Riley gave the report of the area convention at Stratford, Mrs. T. Sherritt gave courtesy remarks. A delicious lunch was served, convened by Mrs. Clarence Reid. Program convenors were Miss Greta Laramie, Mrs. Carl Payne; hostesses, Mrs. R. Elgie and Mrs. J. McAllister. Christmas treats were deliver- ed to thirty shut-ins of Hensall United Church, Tuesday after- noon, as a project of the friend- ship and visitation committee composed of : Mrs. R. J. Drysdale (convenor). Mrs. Stanley Mitch- ell; Mrs. Lorne Hay, Mrs. Albert Shirray, Mrs. Jack Simmons, Mrs. Pearl Passmore, Mrs. Jack Consitt, Mrs. Wilmer Ferguson, and Mrs. Harvey Keys. Hensall News The annual Christmas party for the children of the Legion and Auxiliary was held Sunday afternoon in the Legion Hall, when some forty bags of candy and gifts were given out to the children. Films were shown and lunch served. In charge of the project was Mrs. William Smale and Mrs. John Skea. The minister, organist and senior choir of Hensel]. United Church presented a Christmas vesper service at the Blue Water Rest Horne, Zurich, on Sunday afternoon, following the chapel service. Mrs. Turkheim, organ- ist, and her husband Jack, ent- ertained every one at their home in Zurich. Mrs. Gary Merritt and son Gregory who have been visiting with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Payne, have ret- urned to California. Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 of the Sunday School, of Hensall Unit- ed Church under the leadership of Jack Caldwell, Wayne Payne and Mrs. Cecil Pepper, visited the Queensway Nursing Home on Sunday, December 12.
