Hensall/Zurich Co-ops Lose Twice In OHA Junior D Activity Last Week (by Doug Turkheim) The last week of hockey in the Junior D league saw the Hen- sall-Zurich Co -Ops lose two im- portant games. CLINTON 6 - Co -OPS 3 On Sunday afternoon the Hen- sall -Zurich Co -Ops were down- ed 6-3 by Clinton. The first period was evenly played as neith er team was able to come up with a goal. Clinton opened the scoring in the second period with two goals by Stu Mustard, before Shane McKinnon banged on in for the Co -Ops. Clinton scored two more goals before the end of the period, with Bill Graham and Rick Arthur accounting for them. Both teams scored two goals in the final stanza. Hensall- Zurich scorers were Brian Camp- bell and Fred Armstrong. Stu Mustard and Rick Arthur scored last period goals for Clinton. There were 18 penalties called in the game with each team drawing nine. BELMONT 6 - CO-OPS 3 Zurich Peewees Trounce A. P. (by Doug Turkheim) Monday night saw the Zurich Pee Wees record their first shut- out, as they dumped Adastral Park 12-0. Zurich scored seven times in the first period. Jeff O'Brien, Fred Mommersteeg and Wayne Clarke all scored two goals while the other marker was added by Billy Hay. Zurich was only able to score twice in the second period with Billy Hay accounting for both these goals. The final period saw Jeff O'Brien score two singles, while Steven Haberer added the extra marker to give Zurich their 12-0 shut -out victory. There was one minor penalty handed to each team. Last Tuesday night the Zurich Pee Wees came home from Mit- chell with a 6-2 victory. The first period ended in a 1-1 tie with Wayne Clarke putting Zurich on the score -sheet first. Zurich went ahead in the sec- ond period as they scored three goals off the sticks of Wayne Schilbe, Billy Hay and Wayne Clarke. Mitchell opened the scoring in the final period but Zurich came right back with two goals by Wayne Clarke and Fred Mommer- steeg, to win the game 6-2. BUY NOW . . The two teams played to a 1-1 tie in the first period with John McKinley scoring the Co -Op goal. Doug Hepburn scored the Belmont goal. The only scoring of the second period was by Belmont with three goals, to take a 4-1 lead. Scorers were Don McPherson, Doug Stromes and Doug Hepburn. Again in the final period the two teams played to a 2-2 tie. John McKinley and Brian Camp- bell scored the third period Hen- sall Zurich goals.
