Last Tuesday evening was film night again and the films that were shown were "Grand Canyon, the title speaks for itself and "Celebration, " which was pict- ures of Canada's Centennial Celebrations. Wednesday evening the Ladies Auxiliary held their Christmas meeting. An enjoyable program was presented by Mr. Mozart Gelinas accompanied by his son and daughter. Santa Claus ap- peared and presented each res- ident with a Christmas corsage or boutonniere and silver dollar, gifts from the Auxiliary. A delicious lunch was served fol- lowing the program. REDI MIX CONCRETE (ALSO FORM WORK) The residents have been enjoying a sing -time a couple of mornings a week under the dir- ection of Miss Meda Surerus. Many of the residents enjoy the oldtime hymns and songs as sung in the years gone by. Thursday evening was whiled away playing bingo followed by Mrs. Horn's usual tasty refresh- ments. Mr. Russell Clark, of Detroit visited his father, Mr. Francis Clark during the week, and they dined out and spent the afternoon with friends. Mrs. Mary Faist and Mrs. Louise Simpson were dinner guests of Mrs. Fred Bonthron, Hensall, on Friday. Mr. John Donald was a week- end guest of his family in St. Marys. Mrs. Marie Dow is spend ing a few days with her family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dow. Rev. A. Schlenker of Crediton was guest soloist and was accomp anied on the organ by Mrs. Ed. Finkbeiner, Crediton. Special music at the chapel service is always appreciated by the resid- ents. On Tuesday evening, Decemb- er 15, at 7 p.m. we are planning a Christmas program for the res- idents. The tickets for the draw will also be made on that even- ing. We are inviting you, the public, to share this program with the residents and have ar- ranged for Mr. Pieter Vos and his family to provide the music. Mr. Vos is the administrator of the Sunbeam Home, Waterloo, Giving is a joy if we do it in the right spirit. It all depends on whether we think of it as "What can I spare?" or as "What can I share?" Twenty-seven countries were represented. It received the only gold medal awarded this year at the International Book Fair in Leipzig, Germany - the highest international design aw- ard. The atlas is especially com- mended to all those who would probe deeper into the economic, geographic and social structure of Ontario. Although its appeal will be to teachers, administr- ators, businessmen and research- ers, its information and its un- usual maps reproduced in up to 12 colours will be of interest to all residents of Ontario.. Population distribution, struct- ure of manufacturing, resource industries, agriculture and re- creation are but some of the ec- onomic factors covered by maps and bi-lingual text. In view of its cost, only one copy was acquired. The Atlas may be consulted at any time in Huron County Public Library offices in the Court House,.
