Zurich Bantams
Remain Unbeaten
In League Play

Last Friday night the Zurich
Bantams travelled to Hensall
and came home with an easy
10-3 victory.
Although Mike Veal of Hen-
sall opened the scoring, it
wasn't long before Harry Smits
of Zurich, scored his first of
four goals to put them right
back in the game. Before the
period ended Smits rallied for
his second and Pat Bedard got
his first, to take a 3-1 lead.
The second period saw Smits
and Bedard each rally for anoth-
er goal to give Zurich a conv-
incing 5-1 lead.
In the last period Zurich
out -scored their opponents 5-2,
to take the victory. Zurich scor-
ed three times to take an 8-1
lead before Hensall again scored
their second goal. Marksmen for
Zurich in the last period were
Brad Oke with two while Harry
Smits and Pat Bedard each tall-
ied once more. The extra mark-
er was added by Bill Webster.
Rick Ingram scored both Hensall
goals.
There were four minor penalt-
ies called in the game.
ZURICH 4 - EXETER 3
Last Wednesday night the
Zurich Bantams played an ex-
hibition game in which they
edged Exeter 4-3.
Zurich opened the scoring in
the first period with a goal by
Gerald Weido, but saw Exeter
come hack minutes later to tie
the game. Before the period
ended Derek O'Brien scored for
Zurich to put them ahead 2-1.
The only scoring of the sec-
ond period was at the 14 -minute
mark, when Exeter tied the
game at 2-2.
Zurich went two goals ahead
in the final period with goals
from Gerald Weido and Pat Bed-
ard. The only goal Exeter could
come up with was the goal that
narrowed the game to 4-3.
BEAT ADASTRAL PARK
On Monday night the Zurich
Bantams travelled to Adastral
Park and came home with a
very convincing 14-0 shut -out.
Zurich scored three times in
the first period and increased
their goal scoring to seven by
the end of the second. The
final period saw them double
the first seven goals and give
them an easy 14-0 win.
Gerald Weido led the scoring
attack with a hat -trick, follow-
ed closely by Pat Bedard, Bill
Bedard, Derek O'Brien and
Harry Smits, who all added two
goals each. Singles were added
by Bill Webster, Brad Oke, and
David Schilbe.
There were only two minor
penalties called, both going to
Adastral Park.
