E, E. Steinman. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Becker were sponsors. Mrs. Hilda Wein and Melvin Restemayer underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mrs. Melvin Restemayer spent some time in London with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kirk. Dr. and Mrs. A.C. Whittier, of Peterborough spent the week- end in Dashwood with Miss Erma Wein, and visited with Mrs. Hilda Wein, in London. Miss Susan Whittier, of London spent the weekend here. LOYALTY DINNER Group IV of Zion Lutheran Church, with Mrs. Louella Tie - man, convenor, was in charge of a pot -luck supper, Wednesday November 18, for members of Zion and Peace congregations. Rev . The sale of a strip of land crossing property owned by the Bayfield marina was also authorized for $500 plus legal fees. Four street lights are being installed around the village completing this year's budget for additional street lighting. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 1970 VARNA DISTRICT EXPLORER GROUP The Explorer Group met on Tuesday evening last with Cathy Taylor in charge. The Scripture lesson was read by Brenda Dow - son, prayer by Bohnie Dowson. Minutes read by Sylvia Wilson and the roll call was answered by naming their favourite Christ- mas colour. The offering was taken up by Pam Taylor and ded- icated by Anne Marie Heard. Tanis Chuter gave the treasurer's report. The Study book was led by Mrs. Barry Taylor and Mrs. Eric Chuter was in charge of crafts. The meeting was closed by the president Cathy Taylor, The members of L.O,L.1035, are planning to hold a pot -luck supper on Friday, December 4, for their families. Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont visited relatives in Toronto,. King City and Guelph, last week.
