On Sunday afternoon the Co - Ops, missing many regular play- ers, were trounced 10-2 by the high flying Exeter Hawks. The Co -Ops stayed in the game until the third period when the roof fell in and Exeter banged in seven goals. In the first period Exeter took a 3-0 lead before the Co -Ops found the range for a goal. The second period saw the locals come on strong defensively, bit were unable to come up with a Mt. Carmel Separate School Football Team Defeats Ste. On Wednesday, Nov- ember 3, they played host to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in a touch football competition on their well marked school grounds. Beside the teams, cheerleaders from both schools enlivened the scene. The weather was a beaut- iful sunny day and the feeling of accomplishment was shared by each team with their coaches, Philip Lauzon (St. Joseph) and Mr. McQuil (Mt. Carmel). The results of the game: Mt. Carmel 42, Ste. Marie 18. The teams line- ups were as follows: Line 1, Scott Ross, Matthew Muller, Bernie Kelders, Eddie Wiendels and Dennis Glann. Line 2, Harry Smits, Marty Mart- ins, Mike McCann, Klaus Jerom- kins and Dave Glann. Line 3: Peter Catlas, Hugh Ryan, Bill Singer; Pat Van Kerroboek, and Bob Ford: Quarterbacks: David Regier, Randy Regier, Doug Reg- ier and Dave McCann. Ste. Marie , Line 1: Freddie Ducharme, Randy Geoffrey, Danny Overholt, Joe Rau and Pat Flanagan. Line 2, Gary Rau, Mike Jeffrey, Danny Durand, Gary Jeffrey and Mike Denomme. Line 3: Gary Ducharme, Fred Mommersteeg, Leo Vander Burgt, Danny Laporte and Francis Den- omme. Quarterbacks: Kenny Regier and Peter Vander Burgt. 0 Set New Rates Members of Stephen Town- ship council meeting in regular session last Tuesday afternoon passed a resolution raising the rental rates on house trailers in the municipality to $8 per month The existing rate was $5 per month. The new rate will go into effect on January 1 of 1971. A request is being made to the Ontario Department of En- ergy and Resources to include all of the township in the water- shed of the Ausable River Con- servation Authority. Presently about three per cent of township lands at the northwest edge is not within the watershed. Grants of $75 each were made to the Huron Park figure skating club and the Huron Park minor hockey association. A tender from Petrofina Can- ada Limited to supply gasoline, diesel fuel and furnace oil to the township for a period of two years was accepted. Petrofina submitted the lowest of three tenders. Exeter's goals were scored by Ron Lind- enfield with a hat -trick, follow- ed closely by Bob Rowe and Larry Haugh with two each. Joe O'Rourke, Steve Murley and Larry Laye each scored singles. The Co -Op goals were scored by Randy Decker and John Mc- Kinley. There were 12 penalties called in the contest with Exeter draw- ing seven and the Co -Ops five. CLINTON 6 - Co -Ops 4 Last Wednesday night the Co - Ops again came out on the short end of the score sheet as they were edged 6-4 by Clinton. With the Co -Ops missing a few regulars, they were outscored 3-1 in the first period. Clinton took a 1-0 lead which was short- lived. At 7;35 Richard Schilbe tied the score, but before the period ended Clinton scored twic• off the sticks of Steve Jenkins, Dave Crawford and Ron Paulin. In the second period Hensall- Zurich shortened the lead as John McKinley scored the lone goal of the period. In the final stanza, Clinton banged in three goals cff the sticks of Mike Proctor, Bob Cook and Doug Faucett, before Rich- ard Schilbe and Rod Chapman found the range for the local squad. There was a total of 22 pen- alties called witb Clinton draw- ing 10 and the Co -Ops 12. TAVISTOCK 7 - CO-OPS 2 Last Friday night the Co -Ops lost a tough battle to Tavistock, 7-2. The first period saw Tavistock take a commanding 3-0 lead before John McKinley banged in his first of two goals. The second period was an even match with each tearn collecting one goal. John McKinley banged in his second to make the game 3-2 before Tavistock took over again to make it 4-2 before the period ended.
