A Remembrance Day service will be held in the United Churcl: next Sunday, at 10:15 a.m., with the pastor, Rev. Murdock Morrison in charge. EXPLORERS MEET The Explorer group met in the church last Tuesday evening with the president, Cathy Taylor, leading. Pam Taylor read the scripture lesson, Sandra Webster gave the prayer. The minutes were read by Miss Sylvia Wil- son and the roll call was answ- ered by "our favourite fail color" Janice Webster took up the offer- ing and Ann Marie Heard gave the dedication. Tanis Chuter gave the treasurer's report. The study book was led by Mrs. Bar- ry Taylor. Mrs. Irvin Rader and Sharon spent the weekend in London with Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Howe and girls. Sunday visitors with Mrs. William Gossman were Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Gossman, Donna Lynn and Rachel, Kitchener; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fleming and Kenneth Gossman and friend, Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gossman and friend, of London. The regular and annual meet- ing of the LWML was held Wed- nesday, October 28, in Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. E. E. Steinman took as his topic "Boot training for World Mis- sionaries. A new president and vice-president were elected, namely, Mrs. Albert Miller and Mrs. Wilfred Becker. An invitation to attend a Christian Growth work shop at St. Math - The sixth meeting of the Gosh- en Road Runners was held on October 27, at Debbie McKinley' Everyone answered the roll call, " a defect in my posture" and "how it could be improved." Toni Pennings read the min- utes of the last meeting and the girls discussed plans for Achieve- ment Day, which will be held in January . The discussion was keeping physically fit and some girls demonstrated some worth- while exercises. The meeting closed by having an apple. ews Lutheran Church, in Strat- ford was read. The mite box collection was $28.54. MEN'S CLUB DANCE Dashwood men"s club held a Hallowe'en Dance, Friday, October 30, in Dashwood Com- munity Centre with many at- tired in costume. Prizes were awarded to the best dressed couple, Ramon Meidinger, and Mrs. Clare Masse, best comic couple, Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Boyle; most appropriat- ely dressed for the occasion, Mr, and Mrs. Jack Ford. A smorgasbord lunch follow- ed. SUPPER MEETING The Men's Club of Dashwood held their supper meeting on Monday, October 26, in the Dashwood Community Centre. Officers elected are: president, Joe Dietrich; vice-presidents, Hubert Miller, Arnold McCann and Victor Hartman; secretary - treasurer, Donald Rader.
