Married in Seaforth Church
CLEAVE - COLEMAN
First Presbyterian Church,
Seaforth, decorated with candel-
abras, centred with purple, white
and yellow mums, was the set-
ting of a pretty wedding for Joan
Beatrice Coleman and John
Edward Paul Cleave, on Satur-
day, October 17, 1970 at 3:30
p. m., with Rev. J. C . Mulhol-
land officiating for the double -
ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Coleman,
of Seaforth, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Logan
Cleave, of Bayfield.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was charming
in her floor -length white French
illusion velvet dress, styled with
empire waistline and a small
stand-up collar. The front bod-
ice was finished with rhinestone
trimming. The dress had long
puffed sleeves with wide button-
ed cuffs, her train was held at
the back with a narrow bow.
Her headpiece was a band of
flowers with a shoulder length
veil, and she carried a cascade
of white mums centred with a
purple orchid.
Mrs. Lawrence Scott, sister
of the bride, Seaforth, was
matron of honour and she wore
a purple French illusion velvet
dress with empire waistline and
small stand-up collar. The
front bodice was finished with
rhinestone trimming. The
sleeves had a puff at the elbow,
which extended half way bet-
ween elbow and wrist. Her
headpiece was of the same
material as the dress, and she
carried white carnations with
purple tufts in the centre.
Bridesmaids were Miss Mary
Lansink, Seaforth, Mrs. Rich-
ard Jeffrey, London, Mrs. Don-
ald Coleman Seaforth, and Mrs.
Allan Brokenshire, Zurich. They
were all dressed identical to the
matron of honour.
Mr. Allan Brokenshire, Zurich
was best man and John Coleman,
twin brother of the bride, Sea -
forth, Eugene O'Brien, Zurich,
Allan Cleave, Hensall and
Richard Jeffrey, London, ushered
the guests.
Soloist was Mr. Dave Stewart,
Seaforth, accompanied by the
organist Mrs. Carol Carter, Sea -
forth.
The wedding reception was
held in the church hall, decor-
ated with centrepieces of white,
purple and yellow mums. A
dance followed at Seaforth
District High School.
For receiving the guests, the
bride's mother chose a plum
crimpolene dress with matching
accessories, and wore a purple
orchid corsage.

The groom's mother wore a
white crimpolene dress with a
deep pink velvet coat and hat,
and wore a corsage of pink roses.
For a honeymoon in Florida,
the bride changed to a red dress
and coat, trimmed with black,
and black patent accessories,
her corsage was of red and white
carnations.
The young couple will reside
at 530 Market Street, Exeter,
where the groom is employed
at Custom Trailors Ltd., and
the bride is employed at Skinner
Bus Lines, London.
