OWE WATER REST HOME
It is hoped that the beautiful
autumn weather will still he with
us as you read this column. The
weather still perntits some of our
residents to have their daily walk
outside, and I notice John Don-
ald is still able to pick some of
his five and six leaf clovers.
Film night was changed to
Monday evening instead of the
regular Tuesday evening because
of other commitments. The pict-
ures shown were "Dreamland, "
which was a tour of the places of
interest in the province of Alberta
a.nd "Big Game Camera, " which
showed the wild life of British
Columbia. Since these films
were quite short, Amos Gingerich
showed slides of the home and
residents, that have been taken
over the past year, as well as
other happenings of interest with-
in the community. We are grate-
ful to Mr. Gingerich for this fav-
or.
The sympathy of the residents
and staff is extended to the fam-
ily of the late Wesley Evans, who
passed away suddenly last week.
The bingo night was held
Thursday evening as usual, and
we thank the members of the
ladies auxiliary who assisted the
residents.
Saturday evening brought a
goodly number of ghosts and
goblins to the home. The resid-
ents look forward to having the
children visit, and are prepared
to hand out treats.
Rev. George A. Anderson, of
Exeter, was guest minister, cond-
ucting the Chapel Service on
Sunday evening in the chapel.

We wish to welcome our new
residents, Mrs. Anne Rehn, of
Bayfield and Harold Currie, of
St. Marys. Mrs. Viola McGregor
will be missed by both residents
and staff, but we hope she will
be happy back in her own com-
munity amongst her family and
friends, as she has taken up res-
idency in the newly opened For-
est Horne. No doubt she will
miss the familiar surroundings
and residents and staff of the
Blue Water Rest Home.
A number of out of town vis-
itors have inquired while visiting
concerning the Annual Bazaar
and Bake Sale of the home. The
Bazaar will be held on Saturday
afternoon, November 21. Per-
haps the auxiliary would like to
make an attractive poster and
place it in a conspicuous place
in the home for the purpose of
keeping the public informed.
We are grateful for the gift of
a portable shower chair, present-
ed by the Ladies Auxiliary, in
memory of the late Mrs. Marg-
aret Braun, and made possible
through her gift to thein.
Friday evening, November
6 at 7 p.m. will be our special
family night. Friends and rel-
atives of the residents are invited
to visit and enjoy an evening of
Swiss films and live Swiss music
presented by families who origin-
ated from Switzerland and are
now residing in some of our
neighbourhood towns and villages
Refreshments will be served fol-
lowing the program. We hope yot
will plan to attend and enjoy the
evening's entertainment with the
residents.
