Another busy week has passed
at the Blue Water Rest Home.
Tuesday evening was our regul-
ar film night. The films shown
during the evening \%rere "Scot-
land" and "Scottish Dances."
We were very pleased to have
had Mrs. Orville Storey, of
Seaforth who teaches dancing
there. She brought with her some
of her students who are particul-
arly interested in the Highland
Dances. These young ladies de-
lighted the audience with the
different numbers which they
presented.
We are indeed indebted to
Mrs. Storey for bringing along
Miss Susan Langloise, of Brussels,
Miss Lorraine Laing, of Cromarty
Miss Nancy Jean Fanson, of
Mitchell and Miss Sheri Storey,
of Seaforth. Nelson Howe, of
Cromarty was also present with
his bagpipes, and needless to
say, had several toes a -tapping
to the skirl of the pipes.
One of our residents, John
Donald, a staunch Scotsman,
and a native of Scotland, had
an opportunity to reminisce, as
the films presented familiar
scenes of his childhood and
young manhood, and the numer-
ous Scottish dances, some of
which are familiar to most of us.
Mr.. Donald has high hopes of
visiting his homeland next year,
and all of us here at the Home
are hoping that he will be bles-
sed with the health and strength
so that his wish can be fulfulled.
Mrs. Verda Welsh was our
only resident with a birthday
during the past week. On Thurs-
day evening, the ladies of the
Grand Bend Women's Institute
sponsored the monthly birthday
party. The residents thoroughly
enjoyed the program they pres-
ented as well as the delicious
cake and ice cream which they
served.

the week which helps to give
the morale of our ladies a lift.
We know all of the residents as
well as the hairdresser, apprec-
iate the new equipment in our
beauty shop.
On Sunday evening, Rev.
Harold Dobson, of Grand Bend
had charge of the chapel serv-
ice.
We are working on a project
to raise funds to purchase a
movie projector screen for the
Home. At the present we are
using a white cotton sheet which
does not do our films justice.
An electric deep fryer, an Iona
Electric beater and a five gallon
insulated plastic water cooler
have been donated for a lucky
draw which will be held on Dec-
ember 15. Tickets are on sale at
the tuck shop.
We welcome Wesley Evans to
the Horne. Mr. Evans spent a
short time here some months ago
while his family were on vacat-
ion, and his friends here welcome
him back. We regret Mrs. Bertha
Campbell is at present a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
but reports have it that she is
Joint nicely and so we expect to
welcome her back home soon.
Plans are being made for a
family night here at the home
on the evening of November 6.
We will be having movies of
Switzerland, and live music will
be presented by a Swiss family,
natives of Switzerland, but now
residing in the Mitchell commun-
ity. Read all about it in our neat
issue,
