Jim Veneer's auction sale held Saturday was very successful, and well attended, with good prices realized. Lloyd Venner, of Mensal. purchased the house. The A . C , W. of St. Paul's Anglican Church was more than pleased with the success of their bazaar, bake sale and tea, held Saturday, attended by many from Hensall and community. The baking was sold out in rec- ord time. Convenors of the proj- ect were Mrs. Annie Reid and Mrs. Kay Scrabuik. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Christ- ian of Napanee, and Lyle, of Kingston, visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle. Four carloads of ladies from Carmel Presbyterian Church at- tended the Thank -offering meet- ing at First Presbyterian Church, Seaforth, on Thursday, October 22. Remembrance Day Service will be held in St. Pauls Anglic- an Church, Sunday, November 15, at 9:45 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. George Mickle visited last Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle, Mrs. Stuart Miner, of Thames Road United Church, President of Huron -Perth Presbyterial, was guest speaker Sunday morning at the United Church Women's Service at the United Church, choosing for her theme, "New Horizons of the Church." Turkheim was organist and choir director. 0 Amber .e' kakis Accept invitation To Banquets Regular meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge was held Wed- nesday evening, October 21, presided over by Noble Grand Mrs. Elgin Thompson. Discussion took place whether the Lodge would carry on with the United Nation project. It was decided to carry on. An invitation was received and accepted from Morning Star Lodge, Brussels, with a carload to attend November 10. The meeting will be on the visit of the Assembly President, Miss Audrey Miller, Ottawa, and the District Deputy President, Mrs. Gerald McFalls, Exeter. A number have decided to attend a banquet at South Huron High School Exeter, to honor the Assembly President and DDP, on November 9. Two carloads attended the Monkton Star Lodge installation of their officers, Oct- ober 23. Cards are to be sent to memb- ers and friends. Treasurer Mrs. Ed Corbett gave the financial report of the years work. 0 New Field Man For ARCA A native of Toronto, Roger Martin has been named Resources Manager for the Ausable River Conservation Authority. Martin started his duties last week filling the position vacated a month ago by Bryan Howard who returned to university to further his education. The new Resources Manager graduated from York University in Toronto with a degree in Geo- graphy and for the first eight months of the year filled the same position with the Halton Region Conservation Authority. His wife Eila is a qualified high school teacher specializing in French.
