Hold Rally At
CentraliaCollege
The Huron County Women's
Institute Rally was held in Huron
Hall at the Centralia Agricult-
ural School of Technology, Oct-
ober 5, with 160 ladies attending.
Mrs. Delbert Geiger, Zurich,
President of South Huron, was
chairlady for the day.
The bursary report was given
by Mrs. Cecil Blake, Dungan-
non, who stated that a girl und-
er the CAS is taking a hairdres-
sing course in Kitchener. This
bursary is carried on from year
to year with each Institute cont-
ributing 500 per member.
Mrs. O. Popp, Clinton, rep-
orted for the Historical Society
saying the next meeting will
be held in Carlow Hall, on
October 19 and urged all to at-
tend.
Miss Catherine Hune, Home
Economist, presented Mrs,
Adams of Wroxeter with the
3100 scholarship and framed
certificate for her daughter
Jean who was unable to be pres-
ent. N1iss Ilunt reported she
expects approximately 950 girls
will be taking part in the cur-
rent club, Focus on Fitness.
Mrs. R, M. Peck, Hensall,
reported for the liuronview Aux-
iliary and said the Bazaar and
Bake sale will be on November
14.
Mrs. Vermont Pow, of St.
Thomas, Area President, brought
greetings and urged all to attend
the Area Convention being held
in Stratford November 12 and 13.
Mrs. Wilbur Lawrence, Embro,
FW10 Board member brought
greetings also as did hors. Stan-
ley Bride, Fordwicht
Mrs. Kay Hodgins, consumer
consultant of Toronto, was
introduced by Miss Mollie. Mc-
Gee. She gave a very interest-
ing and informative talk on pol-
lution, sizing, labelling, etc.
Dashwood Institute entertained
the ladies with a very timely
skit on pollution.
Various crafts were displayed
and commented on by the South
Huron Branches.
The 1971 rally will be held in
East Huron.

BAPTISM
Susan Dianne, small chosen
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray
VanDorsselaer was baptized in
Zion Lutheran Church, Sunday,
October 4, by Rev. E.E. Stein-
man. Sponsors were Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Rader.
ATTEND RALLY
Eight ladies from Dashwood
W.I. attended the Huron County
Fall Rally at Centralia College,
Huron Park, Monday, October 5,
namely Mrs. Howard Maier, Mrs.
Leonard Schenk, Mrs. Eben
Weigand, Mrs. Hugh Boyle,
Mrs. V.L. Becker, Mrs. Bill
Becker, Mrs. John Rader and
Mrs. Irvin Rader. Three of the
ladies presented a skit. Mrs.
Eben Weigand displayed mats
and told methods of making.

SHOWER
Previous to her approaching
marriage, Rose Marie Grenier
bride elect of October, has
been honored by several showers.
Irene Hartman and Sharon Mart -
elle were hostesses for a misc-
ellaneous shower at the Dashwoo
Community Centre for some
forty relatives and friends. Rose
was recipient of many lovely
gifts for which she thanked all.
The twin sisters and aunt of
Rose Marie held a surprise
shower at the Zurich Township
Hall for about 35 relatives and
friends. After an evening of
contests, Rose was presented
many lovely gifts for which she
thanked everyone.
Mrs. Lloyd Rader, Mrs. Glen
Rader and Mrs. Ken Rader were
hostesses for a miscellaneous
shower for Rose at the home of
Mrs. Lloyd Rader for relatives
of the groom and neighbours.
After an evening of contests,
Rose was presented with many
lovely gifts.
The name of Mrs. V . L. Beck-
er was missed for attending the
LWML Convention at Clarkson.
Her daughter Iris, of Toronto
spent the day there with her.
Bob Hayter has returned home
from St. Joseph's Hospital, Load.
