S NEWS STUDENT PARLIAMENT - This is the student parliament for the Zurich Public School, These students have been elected to organize various activities throughout the year. Zurich Seeks was pointed out that permission is being asked from the Ontario Municipal Board to install a new pump on well number one. The present pump is in a dangerous condition, and since the water system has enough money on hand to purchase a new one, the committee felt it advisable to proceed with this part of the overall water project. Approval for the entire water project has still not been received from the OMB. Following a request from the Waste Management Branch of the Department of Energy Re- sources regarding a study on area dumps, council adopted a resolution agreeing to partic- ipate in the project as far as a report is concerned. At a meeting some weeks ago in Crediton each municip- ality was asked to pass the res- olution approving the study to be made, and at thesame time appoint a representative to the committee which will work along with the Department of Energy Resources on the project, Building permits were approv- ed as follows; Wilfred Corriveau, $500 for a new porch; Victor Dinnin, $700 for a garage;Lloyd Dungey, $2000 for a pool hall; Victor Dinnin, $300 for siding on an apartment building; and Earl Zimmer, $2500 for renovations to his home. Council agreed at the meet- ing to again call tenders for the supply of fuel oil for all the municipal buildings in the vil- lage, including the arena.
