Mr. Herb Kaercher, of the
Bronson Line is having an auct-
ion sale of farm, stock and
implements on Tuesday, Octob-
er 19,
Miss Gladys Petty, of Hensell
will render two solos in the
Evangelical church on Sunday
evening, October 12,
On Wednesday evening last,
a joint meeting between Exeter
and Zurich was held at the Walp-
er House, Zurich in behalf of
organizing a hockey team bet-
ween the two towns for the com-
ing winter season.
The insufferable pride and
swelling chests of the fellows
who got their coal in last April
or May at $15. a ton is pretty
hard to bear.
The Dominion Department
of Agriculture estimates that
this years yield of wheat in
Canada will be 289, 000, 000
bushels as against 193, 260, 000
for last year.
Mr. John Stephan has sold his
farm on the 14th concession,
Stephen, Mr. racob Messner
has purchased the 50 acres,
known as the Stephen homestead
and Messers Jacob Willert and
Wilfred Desjardine have purch-
ased the other 50 acres. Posses-
sion in both cases given next
March.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Merrier,
of Detroit were weekend visitors
with the former's brother, Mr.
and Mrs. J. W Merner.
Mrs. (Rev,) Lloyd Kalbfleisch
and children of Elmira, were
visitors at the home of her moth-
er, Mrs, E. F, Klopp, the past
week.

ially states that the Zurich of-
fice will re -open on a daily
basis commencing Tuesday,
October 9, The new manager
here will be Gordon 0. Sewell,
who has been accountant at
Orillia for the past number of
years.
Miss Theresa iMeidinger and
Blanche Masse returned to Wind-
sor after the summer months
which they spent at home on
the Bronson Line.
Miss Theresa Routledge, of
Toronto, is visiting with friends
in Zurich at the present time.
Professor and Mrs. Herbert
Kalbfleisch, of London, were
Sunday visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kalbfleisch,

Mrs, Percy Weido, of Kit-
chener, was a visitor at the
home of Mr, and Mrs. Earl
Weido last Tuesday and Wed-
nesday and also visited with
Miss Caroline Price, of London
who was at the hone of George
Thiel, of town,
Mrs. Darold Stade is a pat-
ient at Victoria Hospital, Lond-
on.
Mrs. George Reid from Alberta
is visiting relatives and friends
in Zurich and Bayfield district,
Mrs. Banks, of London spent
the weekend at the home of
her parents, Mr, and Mrs, Wil-
liam flay.
Monday, October 10th has
been proclaimed as Thanksgiv-
ing for Canada, it runs very
close with the second Monday in
October, and should be thankful-
ness given by people the world
over.
On Tuesday, October 11, the

EVENING CLASSES
The courses listed below will be offered at South Huron District High School
during the 1970-71 school year.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Fees - $10,00 for all courses except Welding $15.00; Grade 13 Courses $20.00.
2. If a course is not offered the fees will be refunded.
3. Only those courses in which there is a sufficient enrollment (normally 15) can be given.
4. Call the school for course details.
5. Interested persons should register on Wed. Oct. 7 between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m.
Registration may also be arranged by telephoning the school (235-0880); persons
registering by telephone should pay their fees on the first night of their class.
6. Sessions are generally 2 hours beginning at 7:30 p.m. but grade 13 classes will be 3 hours.
Most courses will run for 21 weeks.
7. Classes will begin during the week of October 12; there will be no classes on Thanksgiving
Day.
