Obituary
MRS. A HURLBURT
Mrs. Anna Catherine Hurlburt,
nee Schnell), whose death occur -
ed on September 9, 1970, in her
94th year, was born in Zurich.
lin 1912 she moved to Aberdeen,

brother, David, and his late wife

She married William Harvey
Hurlburt in 1923 and they retired
to Victoria, B.C. in 1939. She
was predeceased by her husband in
1951.
Subsequently she returned to
Zurich to live with a sister.
Since 1965 Mrs. Hurlburt has
:resided at the Lutheran Sunset
Home in Saskatoon.
She is survived by one sister,
Emma Mack, of Carberry, Man.-
, itoba; a step -daughter, Helen,
Mrs. R. S. Bouteillier, of Saanich-
ton, 9. C , , and the members of
the David Schnell family: Alvena,
Robert and Leonard, of Saskatoon,
Karl and Lorne, of Tisdale, Sask. ,
Edgar of Camrose, Alberta, and
Harold, of Stoney Creek, Ontario;
as well as other nieces and neph-
ews.
The funeral service was held
at the Park Funeral Chapel, on
Friday, September 11, conducted
by the Revs. L. W, and R.F. Sch-
nell. In lieu of flowers memorial
donations were made to the Luth-
eran Sunset Home. Interment
was in Victoria, 13.C.

Enrolment Up In
Huron -Perth SS
Enrolment last week in the 19
separate schools in Huron and
Perth increased by 125 over last
year. About 100 of these are due
to inauguration of kindergartens
in some schools.
John Vintar, superintendent of
education for the Huron Perth
Roman Catholic separate school
board, told a meeting last Mon-
day that total enrolment is 3, 507
compared with 3, 382 last year.
He said there are 136 teachers
employed by the board.
Enrolments in the various
schools are: St. Columban, 126
(133 last year); Our Lady of
Mount Carmel, R, R, 3, Dashwood,
270 (242) Ecole Ste. Marie, St

Mr. Vintar said six portable
classrooms are in use and the
board is considering renting one
more for the Kingsbridge school.
The board is backing a student
rally to be held in Maple Leaf
Gardens, Toronto, October 24,
in support of extension of provin-
cial aid to Catholic education
from kindergarten to Gra de 13.
The board will transport parents
and students from the two count-
ies who wish to attend.
Trustee Joseph Looby of Dublin
asked for an explanation of the
board of arbitration report on
deficits or surpluses of the merg-
ing boards.

Following a honeymoon to Nor-
thern Ontario, the couple will re-
side in London.
