Mrs. Nancy Kyle has returned
after a two -weeks holiday with
members 'of her family in St.
Catharines and London.
Mrs. Irene 'Davis received word
from E. D. McGugan, general
manager of the 1970 Western Fair,
that one of her oil paintings had
been selected from a total of 232
entries.
Margaret and Wilfred Mousseau
attended the Ordination of their
cousin, Louis Mousseau, of the
Capuchin Order, by the most Rev.
G. E, Carter, Bishop of London,
on Saturday, September 12, at
10 a.m. , in St. Theresa's Roman
Catholic Church, Windsor. A
reception was held at St. Joach-
im Hall, St. Joachim.. Father
Mousseau is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Mousseau, of St.
Joachim.
Mr. and Mrs. Felix Boogemans
and Vicki, of Burlington have
returned home following a week's
holiday with the latter's mother,
Mrs. Pearl Passmore, who return-
ed home with them for a vacation.
Charles Mickle, Hamilton,
visited over the weekend with his
mother and also with his father and
aunt, who are patients in St. Jos-
eph's Hospital, 'London.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Rigby, of
Blenheim have returned home
after spending two weeks with
Stewart McQueen and Mr.. and
Mrs. Harry Snell.
Michael Hoy is attending Univ-
ersity of Waterloo and left on
Sunday to commence his studies.
Harold Sherritt, of Florida,
visited over the weekend with
Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt and Mrs.
Bertha Jinks, and also renewed
acquaintances in the village. Mrs.
Sherritt (Marion) visited with her
mother, Mrs. A. Sinclair, of
Windsor, formerly of Hensall.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Blowes
of Preston, called at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle last
Saturday.
Bill Iloy, who is employed as
surveyor at Douglas Point, spent
the weekend with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy.
ANGLICAN WOMEN
The Anglican Church Women
of St. Paul's Church met at the
home of Mrs. Mary Taylor with
the president, Mrs. W. Scrabuik,
presiding. The meeting opened
with the members prayer. Min-
utes were read and the treasurer's
report given.
October 24, was the date set
for the bazaar, tea and bake sale
to be held in the church basement,
Mrs. Anderson reminded the
members of the Deanery meeting
to be held in Goderich on October
20. The bulletin was read with
each member reading a portion
of it. Mrs. Anderson reported the
sale of clothing had been sent and
Mrs. Annie Reid reputed having
sent stamps to the Bible Society.
Mrs. Anderson closed with prayer.
Hensall Institute
Hear Missionary
Hensall Women's Institute re-
sumed their meetings Wednesday,
September 9, with president Mrs.
James McAllister presiding. Guest
speaker for the evening was Broth-
er Bob Mittleholtz, of Zurich, a
returned Missionary. He showed
slides and told of his work in Ind-
ia, and displayed interesting
Indian Souvenirs.
The speaker, who was most
interesting, was intruduced by
Miss Margaret Mousseau and pres-
ented a gift of a donation to his
work by Mrs. B. Beaton.
Members answered the roll call
by "Suggestions for being a better
neighbout. " Discussion was held
of the Rally to be held at Centra-
lia, October 5. A meeting of the
Historical Society will be held at
Crediton, September 14.
Mrs. L. Purdy reported for the
visiting committee on sick and
shut-ins. Mrs. N. E. Cook was
appointed visiting committee for
this coming month.
Members attended a birthday
party at the Blue Water Rest Home,
Zurich, Tuesday, September 15,
providing the program and lunch.
Mrs. Beaton took the chair for
the program which consisted of a
sing -song and piano selections by
Mrs. Ross Broadfoot. Mrs, R. Elgie
gave courtesy remarks. Hostesses
were Mrs. Purday and Mrs. R.
Simpson, program convenors, Mrs.
Seaton and Mrs. Pearl Koehler.

Obituary
MRS WILLIAM HEDDEN
Herb Hedden received word
Friday of the death of his sister-
in-law, Mrs. William Hedden,
who passed away on Friday, Sept-
ember 11, at Niagara Falls. The
former Eva Wilcox, she was a
native of St. Catharines. In Feb-
ruary of this year Mr. and Mrs.
Hedden celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary.
They have been residents of
Niagara Falls for eleven years.
Mr. Hedden retired from the Nia-
gara Falls Bridge Commission in
August, 1969.
The late Mrs. Hedden is surv-
ived by her husband, one son,
George Hedden, of Carlisle; two
daughters (Betty) Mrs. 'F. Belford;
(Marie) Mrs. J. Finlay, of Queens-
way Gardens, both of Niagara
Falls. They also have 10 grand-
children.
Funeral service was held Mon-
day from Butlers funeral home,
St. Catharines.
