No More Dump
At Clinton School
Arrangements have been made
by the 1hiron County i3oard of
Education to have the land area
northwest of Central i luron S S
in Clinton filled in and levelled
following complaints that the site
had been used for the disposal of
surplus materials from the school
shops.
Beginning in September, Clintor
garbage collector will pick up the
tneta'l cuttings from the school,
providing that the total weight
of the disposable material is not
more titan one than can ]candle.
The say dust from the school shops
will be bagged in waterproof cont-
ainers and taken away in tite reg-
ular garbage pick-up as well.
Director of Education, Tohn D.
Cochrane wondered what the board
would do if other Clintonians cont-
inued to use the area as a dump.
Ile said that on two occasions,
persons had been observed dump-
ing refuse into the site.
Suggestion was made that signs
be erected to advise that no dump-
ing was permitted in the area,
Persons ignoring the warning would
be prosecuted, some board memb-
ers thought.
There was no formal decision
on the matter but some members
of the board felt that when the
clean-ip was completed, the
dumping would automatically dis-
continue,
