FARMERS INVADE BORDENS An angry crowd of 500 mem- bers and supporters of the Nat- ional Farmer's Union converged on the Ingersoll Borden Company around 8 o'clock last Friday night, arriving by car, 12 buses, and trucks. Some were as far as Essex. Bags of imported whole milk powder were split open and the contents thrown into the plant pond and strewn about the .grounds The farmers were protesting the importation of whole powder- ed milk from the Republic of Ireland, claiming that the farm- ers have a surplus of milk on their hands which should be used. In the morning they enjoyed a conducted tour of a dairy farm, beef farm and a hog farm.
