FISHING IS GOOD - Area fishermen claim perch fishing at St. Joseph has been exceptionally
good during the past couple of weeks, and some dandy catches have been reported. A person
doesn't even need a boat to fish the waters at St. Joseph, since most of the catches are being made
right off shore, where the Hay Township council have been working to build up a ramp out into
the water. A group of fishermen are shown here as they try their luck at the favourite sport.

First of the second, but before the
inning ended Dashwood had tied
the score at 2-2. Things stayed
fairly close until the fifth inning
when Dashwood jumped into a
one run lead.
In the sixth, they were ahead
one run to push them into a 4-2
lead. In the last inning of play
Leo Debus started things off with
a single hit. Don Oesch connect-
ed with the next pitch and hit a
double which sent Debus in to
make the score 4-3. Gerard Char-
rette hit another single before
Bestard of Dashwood managed to
strike out three Zurich players
consecutively.
Other Zurich hits went to Don
Oesch, Leo Debus, and Gerard
Charrette, each with another
single. Pat Bedard accounted for
the other Zurich safety.
Dashwood only managed to
collect a total of six hits with
doubles going to Pete Kleinstiver
and Brian Bestard. Singles went to
Jim Neilson and Rick Grenier.
CLINTON 11 - ZURICH 3
What started out like a victory
'or the Zurich Midgets turned out
to be a lopsided victory for Clin-
ton as they downed the locals 11-
3. Again Zurich took a 2-0 lead,
but it was short-lived as Clinton
carne back strong and never fell
behind again.
The only Zurich hits came off
the bats of Gerard Charrette, with
a double, and singles going to
Pat Bedard, Rick Walker and
John Mommersteeg. Clinton col-
lected a total of 12 hits and also
were able •to bring in several runs
caused from errors on the part of
the locals.
Joe Kenda and Bill Bedard shar-
ed pitching for Zurich while Steve
Switzer of Clinton went the whole
game.
