Zurich Citizens News, 1970-06-25, Page 3THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 1970 ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS Mrs. Lena Munster Van Dyke, arrived in Hensall on June 19, and is visiting with her niece and ne- phew, Mr, and Mrs. Sim Roobol, also her brother, Mr. M. Van Dyke, and while here will visit at Seaforth, Ridgetown, Brantford, Bradford and Holland Marsh. After four weeks visiting, she leaves for Three -Rivers, Quebec, and will spend two weeks with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Anth- ony Van Dyke. She will leave Montreal, on July31 and arrive in Oud, Beyerland, Holland, on August 1. Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle attended Open House last Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hillier, at Lond- on. Mrs. Hillier and Mrs. Mickle were former classmates at the Stratford Normal School many years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mickle, of London, visited recently with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle Mr, and Mrs. Patrick Soldan were host and hostess to the staff of J. A. D, McCurdy school, Huron Park, for their annual school closing dinner. The event was held at the Soldan Farm, Parr Line, in Hay Township. on Friday evening, June 19. The men and their wives enjoyed del- icious barbeque steaks, with all the trimmings. The evening was spent in a social way. Mrs. Norman Jones is a pat- ient at South Huron Hospital, Ex- eter. Jim Venner, who has been a patient at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, was admitted to the Queensway nursing home, Hensall, Mrs. J. D, McCloy and daugh- ter, Carrie, of Don Mills, are spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Alma Hess. Hensall Institute Visit Huronview Patients at Huronview spent an enjoyable evening listening to a concert, arranged by Hensall Women's Institute, on June 17. The program started with Mrs. Carl Payne leading in a sing song, accompanied at the piano by Miss Greta Lammie, followed by hymn singing led byMrs. Eric Luther, accompaniedbyMrs. Captain Williams, of Sarnia, Salvation Army. Selections by a girl's tambour- ine band, "The Timbrellettes, " Amber Rdbekahs Nominate Officers The regular meeting of Amber Rebekahs Lodge was held on Wed- nesdayevening, with Nobel Grand Mrs. Grace Thompson, presiding. Noble Grand Mrs. Myrtle Tay- lor reported sending cards to a number of shut-in members. A generous donation was received to be used for this prupose, which will be very much appreciated for cards, and treats. A number of members were reported in hos- pital. Mrs. Elizabeth Riley was ap- pointed as Noble Grand by ac- clamation, for the coming year of 1970-71. All officers were ap- pointed by nomination.. Four members volunteered to visit the patients at the local nursing home, during the summer months. Date was set for the annual fancily picnic of I, O, O, F, and Rebekah Lodges, to be held July 5, at the Community Park, Hen- sall. from Sarnia, proved very popular with all, as did the duet, flow Great Thou Art, " sung by Miss Sandra Round, of Sarnia, and Mrs. Luther.
