President's Award to Zurich Chamber
The Zurich and District Cham-
ber of Commerce have been
awarded the "President's Award"
for outstanding work in their
community during the past year.
The award was presented to Ger-
ald Gingerich, at the annual
convention of the Ontario Cham-
ber of Commerce in Windsor last
week.
Each year the president of the
Ontario Chamber of Commerce
makes the award to five Ontario
groups, which he feels Have per-
formed outstanding service during
his term of office. He picked the
Zurich group for "initiating pro-
jects of special interest to Zurich
and area, and for general excel-
lence of program activities."
The presentation was made by W.;
E. Gunn, president.
The president's awards are
presented annually, to member
Chambers of Commerce of Boards
of Trade, which have made spec-
ial contributions, or continued
to provide outstanding advance-
ment of their communities or
areas and by so doing have en-
hanced generally the prestige and
effectiveness of the Chamber
of Commerce movement.
In presenting the plaques to
the five organizations, Mr. Gunn
said, "It is not an easy task to
make a selection of this kind
from so many fine organizations,
all of which have worked so dil-
igently and done so much for the
Ontario Chamber of Commerce."
At the 58th annual meeting in
Windsor, Mr. Gingerich was re-
elected as a director of the Ont-
ario Chamber of Commerce.
