INTERESTING RAPPf NINGS IN ONTARIO'S PItErnEST VILLAGE
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mans-
field, Syracuse, N.Y. were
weekend visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Grant Turner.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fraser
were joined on Sunday by their
grandson and family, Dr. and
Mrs. Fraser Fellows and Geoffrey
Mrs. R. G, Hunter and Mrs.
Charles Rogers of Toronto, spent
Wednesday until Sunday at
their village home, Dr. Hunter
joined them fox the weekend.
Phil Turner and Mike O'Brian
participated in the "Bunny
Bundle" canoe race in aid of
the Crippled Childreris Fund
held in London on Sunday. They
had completed 19 „miles when
at Fanshaw Lake the race was
cancelled due to adverse cond-
itions. Both Phil and Mike were
able to reach the shore without
a ducking in the turbulent water.
Mr. and Mrs. Bryan King of
London were weekend visitors
with Mrs. King's parents, Mr. -
and Mrs. Robert Turner.
Sunday night's gale force
wind twisted a few aerials and
littered avonumber of lawns with
fallen branches in the village,

MRS. EMMA BLOCH
A resident of Zurich for many
years, Mrs. Emma Louise Bloch
passed awayin South Huron
Hospital, xeter, on Tuesday,
April 14, in her 87th year. Her
husband, the late Herbert Bloch
pre -deceased her some time ago.
Born in Hay Township on Feo-
ruary 27, 1884, she was a dau-
ghter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Thiel, of Zurich,
Surviving is one song Gordon
Bloch, Zurich; one brother,
Fred Thiel, London; one sister,
Mrs. Marie Hess, Zurich; two
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
The funeral service was held
on Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m.
in the Westlake funeral home,
Zurich, with interment in St.
Peter's Lutheran Cemetery,
Goshen line. Rev. A.C. Black-
well officiated.
Pallbearers were Carl Thiel,
Herb Mousseau, Earl Flaxbard,
Albert Deichert and Peter Deich-
ert.
however a barn on the farm
owned by Adam Flowers, R.R,3,
Bayfield, suffered quite heavy
damage, and the loss of two
antique buggies.
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Ervine
spent the weekend in Arkwright
with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Strong.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Scotch -
mer and Robert returned to
Chatham Sunday evening after
spending the weekend with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Scotchmer.
George Lindsay, University of
Waterloo is spending this week
at the home of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Lindsay.
TRINITY GUILD
Trinity Guild held its,April
meeting in the Parish Hall on
Tuesday last, eight members
and one guest were in attend-
ance. The treasurer's report
given by Mrs. Lorna Merner
showed a substantial balance
on hand. Mrs. Ruby Fitzsim-
mons, card secretary also gave
a report. The members approv-
ed the purchase of six card
tables and additional cream and
sugar sets. Lunch was served by
