APRIL, 1920
The weather for the past two
weeks has been almost like Jan-
uary, but prospects look favour-
able for much warmed weather
for the next week ahead.
Mr. and Mrs. Milne Rader,
of the 14th concession, visited
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Truemner on Sunday.
Jacob Howald, Kitchener, is
in the village lookingfor a place
to reside in, having isposed of
his home in the city.
A change of real estate of
great interest took place Inst
week when Casper Walper ex-
changed his dwelling home to
Mrs. A. Johnston and son, for
the property known as the Dom-
inion House Hotel. The change
will take place on April 20.
Conrad Sienion of the Zurich
Road to Hensall, has purchased
the fine farm adjoining his from
Charles Redmond.
Chris Gingerich, of the Bron-
son Line, north of Blake had
the misfortune while cutting wood
last week, to cut a severe gash
in his foot.
Miss Flora Hess, teacher in a
public school in Centralia, spent
the past week at her home here.
40 Years Ago
APRIL, 1930
Mrs. 0. Fisher, and son Ray-
mond were weekend visitors
with friends in Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee O'Brien,
Mrs. W. H. Hoffman, were
Sunday visitors with relatives in
Stratford.
Mrs. Clara Decker of the
Goshen Line, south, has purch-
ased from Mr. Sol Schroeder of
Hay Township, his dwelling
property in Zurich located in the
western part of town, just west
of Wreath's bake shop.
Your spring coat or suit in
fashion now, is not complete
unless you have a new bonnet of

George Petty, senior partner
of the firm of Petty and Wren,
produce dealers, has sold his
interests in the business to Cecil
Harris. Mr. Petty intends taking
a rest for a while.
Miss Grace Love was taken
to the Hensall Hospital owing
to illness. We hope for a speedy
recovery.

APRIL, 1915
The Brenner Hotel, Grand
Bend, known to thousands of
people far and wide, has been
sold to Harold W. Klopp, Lon-
don. The hotel had been in the
Brenner family for three gener-
ations.
Mr. and Mrs. William Need-
iger, of Dashwood, quietly
celebrated their 44th Wedding
Anniversary last Tuesday.
Karl Haberer was elected as
president of the Hay Township
Federation of Agriculture at
their annual meeting last Wed-
nesday night. Bert Klopp is
honorary president.
Ward Fritz has purchased the
vacant lot close to his garage
from Herb Block. Seth Anumans
has purchased four and a half
acres of land from Edward Hab-
erer. Louis Schrag has taken
possession of his farm he purch-
ased from Henry Flaxbard on
the Babylon Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Gascho
and Laura, who have lived on
the Bronson Line, have moved
into the home they bought in
Zurich.
Harry Badour has sold his
dwelling property in Zurich to
Louis Wurm, with immediate
possession being given.

APRIL, 1955
Mr. Keith Westlake has purch-
ased from Mr. Charles Thiel
the building lots between the
Hess Jewellery Store, and the
Hay Fire Insurance block on
Main street, and has already
started on the excavation for a
new building to be used as a
furniture store.
St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Zurich was decorated with
white lillies, palms, fern and
candelabra on Saturday after-
noon, for the wedding of Mar-
jorie Anna Klopp, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Klopp,
Zurich, and Jeffre Gordon

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Siemon
Zurich, entertained at their
home on Sunday for a family
dinner, in honor of Mr. and Mrs,
Archie Noakes, Hensall, who
celebrated their 45th wedding
anniversary,
Mr. and Mrs. George J. Thiel
Zurich, marked their Golden
Wedding Anniversary on Wed-
nesday, April 6.
Arnold Merrier, Sr., is a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, taken by Westlake
ambulance last Monday. Mr.
Merner fell on Sunday and in-
jured his leg causing a torn
ligament.
The tax levy for South Huron
.District high School has been
set at seven mills, the same
rate as it has been for the past
two years.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kretzman
and son, Detroit, and Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Poland and family,
Campbellford, were weekend
visitors with Mrs. Cora Gaiser,
Dashwood,
