Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Miller, Dianne and Vicki attend• ed the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Ford at Flint, Michigan, Sunday. A number of United Church members visited the Rescue Mission in London, Thursday, April 19, and provided the chap- el service. The ladies served lunch to approximately 40 men in residence that evening. A gift of maple syrup from one member was made to the mis- sion. Mrs. Amelia Willert is a pat- ient in St. Joseph's hospital, Loudon, where she underwent surgery. hir. and Mrs. Lester Schenk and Debbie of Walkerton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schenk and girls Saturday. LADIES AID The regular sleeting of Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid was held Wednesday, April 8, with group one and Mrs. Jim llayter, convenor, in charge of devot- ions and lunch. Rev. E.E. Stein- man took as his topic "The Lit- urgy of the Hymn Book." Mrs. Lorne Genttner, president, dealt with the business. The Altar Guild is Mrs. Ernest Koeh- ler and Mrs. Cliff Salmon. A bus trip to Hamilton and Luther - wood is planned for this summer. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The annual meeting of Dashwood W.I, was held Tues- day, April 7, with the directors Mrs. Martha Miller, Mrs. Stu- art Wolfe, and Mrs. V .L. Beck- er in charge. The losing side in a membership contest captained by Mrs. Louella Tiernan treated the winning side with Mrs. Eben Weigand, captain, to a pot -luck supper. Following supper secret pals revealed their identity with a small gift. Vice-president Mrs, Gordon Bender presided for the meeting. Reports were heard from the secretary treasurer and all stand- ing committees. The short cou- rse is April 10. Mrs, Glenn Webb reported on the Director's meet- ing, The District Annual is May 21 at Hensall. The fall rally will be held at Centralia College. Lucinda Mclsaac, 94, the former Lucinda Kleinstiver, widow of Dashwood's former undertaker, and telephone man- ager, Peter Mcisaac, passed away at Queensway Nursing Home, Ilensall, Friday, April 10. Surviving are one daughter- in-law, Mrs. Carolyn Johnson, Windsor; 13 grandchildren, 114 great-grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. The body rested at the T. harry 11offinan funeral home where prayers were said Sunday evening. Requiem Mass was held at Our Lady of Mr. Carmel church Monday, with interment is adjoining cemetery. Father Grooine officiated. Pallbearers were Marvin Mc- Lean, Gary Spears, Steve Mc - Isaac, Jinn Labudda, Dave Mc - Isaac, Lorne Kleinstiver, Dennis Corriveau, Doug Mclsaac. Blake Snoblen, a Thamesville farmer, was elected chairman of the Ontario Hog Producers' Mar- keting Board at a meeting in To- ronto this month. Sid Fraleigh, Forest, becomes vice-chairman. Other members of the hog board executive are Peter McDonald, Bright; Thomas Broughton, Oak- ville; Carl Clayton, Napanee and past -chairman Clare Curtin, Lind- say.
