Orval Rapson is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Orr attend- ed the funderal of their sister -in law, Mrs. James E. Orr of Park- hill, who passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Sat- urday, March 7. The former Aileen Corbett, she was in her 70th year. Funeral service was held in Parkhill, Monday, March 9. Kippen East W.I. held their annual Family Night in the Legion Hall, Friday, March 6. A delicious turkey supper with all the trimmings was served. In charge of the entertainment were Mrs. Glenn Bell, Mrs. Mike Connolly, and Mrs. Will- iam Kyle, with euchre the high- light of the evening and the winners were; ladies, Mrs. Will- iam Bell, Mrs. Al Hoggarth; men; E. Whitehouse, Vern Alderdice, lone hands, William Smale. Mrs. Wayne Reid was hostess Amber Re'beka'hs Planning Euchre Noble Grand Mrs, Elgin Thom- pson chaired the regular meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge, held Wednesday, March 4. Cards will be sent to sick and shut-ins and word was received that the Charter will be draped at a later date in memory of Brothers Sterritt and McEwan. Final arrangements were made for the 21st birthday party, March 18. Clinton and Goderich lodges are to be guests. It was decided to have a des- sert euchre, Wednesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. Each member is to invite as many guests as possible. Members are to invite as many guests as possible. Miss Sandra Maxwell read the presentation address and Mrs. Dave Ingram and Mrs. Reid presented the lovely gifts in a basket decorated in pink and Injured Worker Rushed to Hospital A London construction worker is in satisfactory condition in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, after falling 22 feet from theroof of a building under construction in Hensall. Patrick Geraghty, 31, of Lon- don, was workingon the roof of the. Boise Cascade project on Oxford street. The firm tool< over the Hensall operation of General Coach Works and is building; a $500, 000. mobile home pant in the southwest section of the village. Mr. Geraghty was taken to the London Hospital by Westlake Ambulance Service, Zurich. In a draw for groceries, Bob Parsons was the winner, and a box of chocolates was won by Al Hoggarth. white motif. Mrs. Reid conduct- ed contests and a dainty lunch was served. Hensall United Church Anniv- ersary has been set for the last Sunday in May. Guest speaker will be a former Hensall boy, Rev. Robert Passmore, now of Central United Church, Owen Sound. PASSES EXAMINATION Joyce Ferguson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Ferguson, was successful in passing the grade eight piano examination with honours. She was a candidate at the mid -winter examinations of the Western Ontario Conserv- atory conducted in Stratford on February 26. Joyce also passed grade two theory with first class honours last summer. She is a pupil of Miss Greta Lammie, Hensall. 0 Ladies Auxiliary Cater to Bonspiel The Legion Ladies Auxiliary met Tuesday evening for their March meeting, wits first vice president Mrs. Howard Sin ale presiding. The group will cater for a bonspiel, March 21. They made plans for their annual penny sale in May, and will draw for the Easter basket of groceries and a $5.00 voucher for a East- er Ham March 28. Proceeds are for crippled children. The Auxiliary will canvas for the Red Cross in March. Mystery prize was won by Mrs. Hilda Smale; guessing., Mrs. Clarence Reid; attendance, Mrs. J. Randall. Bingo was played and lunch served. 0 UNDERWENT SURGERY Michael Hoy is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where he underwent surgery on Monday for a shoulder separation which he sustained in a hockey game in Zurich on November 9. Obituary WILLIAM OTTERBEIN William 1. Otterbein, 84, of llensall, passed away in West- minster Hospital, London, Sat- urday, March 7, havingbeen a patient in the hospital or two and a half weeks. He was a vet- eran of the first World War. His wife the former Esther Johnston, predeceased hint in 19- 52. One son George, of Galt, survives. Public funeral service, con- ducted by Rev. George Ander- son, was held from the Bonthron Funeral home, Monday, at 3.30 p.m. Burial was in Hensall Union cemetery.
