Editor.
O Y
her to the public.
I hope that she bears with my
infantile Grade 10 level of
writing as well as some of
my ideas, because, not all
of us can be perfect.
It would certainly be an
honour to meet her in order
to get an idea of how the better
members of society can stand
seeing the rest of us lead our
lives the way we do and also
learn her secret of becoming
perfect.
In all the biology, or physics
book or encyclopediae I have
read, I have hot yet been
able to learn of a method
whereby human beings are
able to be present in one place
but have a total knowledge of
what happened somewhere
else.
Of course, she could have
received her information '
from overhearing some of the
mortals discussing what a good
time they had. You can be
certain that her sources were
reliable.
I still wonder why she did
not sign her own name to her
work. Was she ashamed of it,
afraid of what would happen
to her name, or does she wish
to remain our Heroine fight-
ing the forces of corruption
silently behind our backs?
What do you think?
John Noakes.
Annual Meeting of Huron Children's
Aid Society Honors Foster Parents
(continued from page 1)
fact,
"Single -parent families
are not welcomed, " Mr.
Paget complained. "Let's
face it. Does the church
really want single -parent
families in their congregations?"
He stressed the importance
of a homemaker service and
noted that in the USA there
are about 6, 000 to 7, 000
homemakers across the country
as opposed to about
50, 000 homemakers in England.
He referred to foster parents
as "treatment teams dealing
with emotionally disturbed
children." Mr. Paget said the
man is a very important part
of the poster parent plan, and
suggested that foster parents
should be paid for their
efforts.
"We pay therm $100 a month
after three years, " Mr. Paget
reported, "because they are
staff. It costs money to re-
habilitate children in foster
care."
In 1970, for the first time in
Ontario Hydro's history, power
from thermal stations, both
coal-fired and nuclear, will
exceed that from hydro -electric
sources.
Mr. Paget was introduced
•by Rev, R.C, McLeneghan,
'Dungannon, and thanked
by Mrs. Mervin Cudmore,
!Exeter.
Mr, and Mrs. Ross Krueger,
,Crediton, were named 1969
Foster Parents of the Year.
They received a framed
certificate as a token of
appreciation for their work.

Dolmage, 1968 foster parents;

Goderich, foster parents 1967;
Mr. and Mrs. John Scott, foster
parents for 1966; and Mr. and

Highlight of the evening was a
special presentation for Mrs.
Albert Taylor, Goderich, who
has spent 31 years on the board
of directors for the Huron
County CAS and 13 years before
, that as a volunteer worker.
Warden Roy Westcott
brought greetings from the
county and noted that "our
way of life brings more and
bigger problems every year
to our CAS." He said foster
parents display qualities
some of us will never have."
