crane dumping a wrecked car into the baler, to be crunched into a small bundle of metal. Gars
can be baled in the machine at the rate of one every four or five minutes.
Zurich Juveniles Knock Brussels Out
Of Further Competition in. WOAA Play

Mondy night the Zurich
Juveniles won their first playoff
series, as they downed Brussels
in a thrilling 6-3 victory.
Ron Desjardine shot Zurich
into a short-lived 1-0 lead early
in the first period only to see
Brussels come back with two
goals, off the sticks of Gordon
Machos and Murray Workman.
Before the period ended Shane
McKinnon tied things up at 2-2.
In the second period Brussels
scored their third and last goal,
accounted for by Rick Pipe. The
rest of the game was all Zurich
as Aubrey Bedard and Randy
Decker, scoring his first, shot
Zurich into a 4-3 lead.
In the last stanza Shane McKit
non and Randy Decker scored
their second goals of the game.
Both teams payed a rather
rough game with Brussels draw-
ing nine of sixteen penalties,
including a bench -minor and
one misconduct.
FIRST GAME
Last Friday night the Juven-
iles won their first game of the
series trouncing Brussels 14-4.
Shane McKinnon sparked the
Zurich attack as he rifled in
eight big goals. Rick Schilbe,
who again dislocated his collar-
bone, accounted for three big
goals. The game was only 20
seconds from being over before
Rick was hurt.
Ron Oesch also aided to the
cause scoring twice. Ron Des-
jardine added a single goal.
At the end of the first period
Zurich had a sligh 3-1 lead, but
by the end of the second had a
convincing 10-1 lead. Zurich
outscored Brussels 4-3 in the
final period.

Bantams Win First

On Tuesday night the Zurich
Bantams started another series
with Drayton, and defeated
them 9-4 in the first game of
the W , O. A. A. playdowns.
Zurich didn't get off right in
the first period as they were
playing on a much smaller rink
than usual, and the first session
ended in a 1-1 tie. Pat Bedard
scored his first of the game for
Zurich. Darrel Becker also scor-
ed his first goal for Drayton.
In the second period Robert
Wynda shot Drayton into a 2-1
lead. Gerald Weido with his
first, Pat Bedard's second, and
Brad Oke and Bill Webster gave
Zurich a convincing 5-2 lead.
Marty Vande Vin shortened
that margin to 5-3 before the
period ended.
In the last stanza Zurich came

Zurich Peewees Eliminate Huron Park
In Two Straight Games

Monday night the Zurich Pee
Wees won their second game of
the semi-final series against
Huron Park, as they edged them
,6-5.
Huron Park had scored twice
in the first period before Derek
O'Brien found the range and
popped in his first goal, to end
the period 2-1,
Each team scored once in the
second period as Derek O'Brien
scored his secondoal of the
game, and Scott loss his second,
also.
In the final stanza Zurich out-
scored Huron Park 4-2, as Derek
O'Brien capitalized on two more
plays and. Wayne Clarke and
Barry Hess each scored once.
Scott Ross scored his third and
fourth goal also.
Huron Park collected five
penalties out of the seven called,
WIN FIRST GAME
Last Saturday afternoon the
Peewees travelled to Huron
alive as Pat Bedard scored his
third, Gerald Weido his second,
Bill Bedard and Pete Hesse one
each, to pretty well rap things
up, but before the pariod ended
Darrel Becker scored his second
goal to end the game, 9-4.
Each team collected three
penalties in the game.
The Bantam team also ask
the support of all local fans to
cheer them on to victory in
their playoff series. The second
game of the series was played
last night in Zurich.
Park to squeeze through with
a 5-4 victory,
Derek O'Brien shot Zurich
into an early 1-0 lead, as Greg
Love scored his first goal and
Fred Mommersteeg scored to
give Zurich a 3-1 lead. Ken
McKellan had scored Huron
Park's goal.
Pete Catlos scored twice in
the second period as Huron Park
out -scored Zurich 2-1, Barry
Hess scored the only Zurich
goal in the second to give them
a slight 4-3 lead. In the last
period Greg Love scored the
winning goal after Peter Catlos
had scored his third of the game.
Zurich drew three out of the
five penalties called.
The Peewees will now advance
in the W.O. A. A, championship
playing the winners of the series
between Blyth and Ripley.
LOSE EXHIBITION GAME
Sunday night the Zurich Pee
wees again dhallenged Grand
Bend, but were downed 4-2.
In the first period Cameron
Haist gave Grand Bend a 1-0
lead and before the period ended
Kevin Darars had given them a
2-0 lead. Early in the second
Barry Hess put Zurich back in
the game but Mike Desjardine
came right back with the win-
nin& goal. Greg Love again put
Zurich back in the game at 4.35
mark, but midway through the
period Cameron Haist scored his
second, and insurance goal.
Zurich drew five penalties in
the game.
