Dominions Beat Mitchell; Play Lambeth Flyers In Hensall on Sunday Afternoon The Zurich Dominions, after losing their fourth straight game last Wednesday night, rebound- ed on Sunday afternoon and came through with a convinc- ing 7-4 victory over the Mitch- ell Hawks. They were drubbed 8-3 last Wednesday night in Lucan. This week the Dominions face the heaviest test in their schedule as they play three games, two of them away from home. Last night they played in Lambeth, Saturday night they journey to Belmont, and on Sunday afternoon they host the rampaging Lambeth Flyers, in the Hensall Arena. The game on Sunday afternoon is being played in Hensall as part of the big Winter Carnival in that community, and will ger under way at 2 p.m. As of Monday night the Zurich crew are in third place in the six -team grouping, two points behind second place Lucan, and only one point ahead of fourth - place Belmont. Lucan has played one game more thaw Zurich. ZURICH 7 - MITCHELL 4 The Dominions took a 2-1 lead in the first period on Sun- day afternoon, and hungon for a 4-3 lead by the end othe second period. It was in the third period that the locals came up with their best effort, bang- ing in three more goals. Bob Langille and Ron Corriv- eau both scored for the locals in the first session, while. Glen Nicholson accounted for the Mitchell goal. It was Stu Must- ard all the way for Zurich in the second period, as he scored two big goals, while Dave Flan- agan and Nicholson registered for Mitchell. John McKinley gave the Dominions a 5-3 lead in the third period, only to have Bill Walkom come through for the Hawks to make it 5-4. Goals by Bill Stirling and Ron Henry, just 21 seconds apart at 14.40 and 15.01 salted away the victory for the Dominions. One of those rare occurences, a goal- tender earninz an assist on a goal, took place in the third period when Gary Geoffrey was.awardecl an assist on McKinley's goal. The locals were an extremely well-behaved group on Sunday as they picked up only four minor penalties, and one mis- conduct, while Mitchell were assessed a total of eight minors. Three quick goals, by Bill Stirlingg, John Loader and Rich Schilbe, in that order, gave the Domin- ions a new lease on life, but time ran out before any more damage could be done. Tom Hodgins led the Lucan attack with two big goals, while Jim Hearn, Dave Revington, Jeff Craig, Mike Anderson, Dennis Carty and Tom Anderson each scored one. A total of 20 penalties were called in the game, with eight of them going to Zurich and 12 to Lucan. Included in the Zurich total was a major misconduct.
