ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS
ALL IN FUN While members of the Zurich Girl Guides decorated the sitting room at the Blue
Water Rest Home on Saturday afternoon, a number of the residents watched with interest while the
girls went about their work. One of the nurses, Mrs. J. N. McKone, tries a Christmas wreath on
the head of Mrs. Jenny Hotson, of Grand Bend, much to the amusement of another resident in the
left of this photo.

spent a few weeks in Windsor and
other points returned to her home
on Saturday last and was accoLnp•

omme motored to Detroit on
Saturday last to visit with rel-
atives in that city for the week-
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Debus,
of Zurich, also Mr. and Nits.
John Mahoney of Mount Carmel
called on the Sophas on this •
highway, but since the elder
Sophas had had a Sunday date
with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Diet-
rich of Zurich to be altogether
and they all spent the afternoon
and evening at the Dietrich
home in Zurich making it per-
fectly pleasing for all.
Mr. Paul Masse Jr., and Mr.

At time of writing, nature has
provided a snow fall to cover
the ground which is not unusual
for this time of year. To be
frank, I feel it is not welcomed
for the time being. Although
there are some who look for a
white Christmas. To avoid sick-
ness, they fear a green one, as
they say it brings death. Well
let us wait and see.
Again we are approaching
another Christmas, and again
we will ask God's blessings to
fare us through another year.
For some, the passing year was
a successful one all the way
through, and for those people

it was a blessed one enjoying
themselves with prosperity and
good health with no obstacle to
marr their happiness. To those
we wish them well to again
enjoy life. Others living in the
same surroundings were not so
fortunate. They did not enjoy
the passing year due to sickness
and accidents, or what all in.
their foot steps during their
daily routine. To those un-
fortunate ones we hope the
coming year will be a more
rewarding one. May their health
improve that they too may en-
joy some part of life. Life is
not meant to live it all in des-
pair, although there are times
when we are not returning en-
ough for what we receive. So
whatever comes to cross your
pathway, be ready to accept it
with a clear heart. To those
unfortunate ones w:. wish the
coming year will be rewarding
to them.
In an upset world such as the
one we live in today, it would
be well for those in authority
during this yuletide season to
seek divine guidance to bring
about peace that cannot be
accompanied with the sword or
gun, but rather with cross in
hand. Perhaps it would have
more favourable effects.
When nearing Christmas it is
a pleasure to wish all a "Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year."
To you, Mr. Publisher, and
to yours, that you enjoy pros-
perity and good health and
continued success in your good
work.
