left Zurich crew in second place,
a few points behind first -place

minutes to play in the second
period a fight erupted in the
stands, and the referees halted
play. Both teams were sent to
the dressing rooms and the bal-
ance of the period was played
along with the third session.
Two goals in less than four
minutes midway through the
first period gave the Irish a 2-0
lead, which they managed to
hold on to until the 5.27 mark
of the third. John McKinley
broke the ice with his goal on a
pass from Bob Cook, and then
midway through the period Cook
scored unassisted to tie the game

day night romped to their most
one-sided victory of the young
season when they dumped the
Mitchell Hawks 8-1, on the lat-
ter's home ice. The victory,
however, was a costly one for
the Dominions as they lost the
services of classy centre Rich
Schilbe, who suffered a broken
collar -bone in the third period.
He will be out for a couple of
months.
Led by Bob Cook with three
goals, and Stu Mustard with two,
the local crew had little diff-
iculty with the Hawks, as they
banged in two goals in the first,
three in the second and three
more in the third period.
Mitchell took a temporary lead
at 13.08 of the first period, but
before the session had ended
Rich Schilbe and Stu Mustard had
both found the range to give Zur-
ich a 2-1 lead.
Cook scored two of his three
goals in the second period, and
Ron Corriveau came up with the
extra marker in the same frame.
After Schilbe suffered his in-
jury in the third period, the
Dominions carne up with three
more goals, off the sticks of
Cook, Stirling, and Mustard.
Both Mustard and John McKin-

game. The local crew played
without the services of John

at 2-2. Zurich out -shot Lucan
35-34.
First period marksmen for Lucan
were Jeff Craig and Mille Ander-
son. Stellar netminding on the
part of Gary Geoffrey kept the
Lucan crew from scoring oftener
in the first half of the game, and
then in the last period the situat-
ion was reversed when Jerry Free-
man blanked Zurich on Many
tries that should have been sure
goals, and only two got by him.
The refereeing in the game
was probably the worst seen in the
league this year. For no reason
whatever, John Loader was giv-
en a misconduct and then a
game misconduct penalty in the
first period. Both referees missed
numerous infractions which shouts
have resulted in penalties, and
called penalties on players who
did not deserve them.
In the second period Kevin
McKinnon was given a mis-
conduct and then a major mis-
conduct, when he objected too
strenuously on a penalty called
against Bill Taylor. Five-min-
ute majors were also handed out
to Taylor and Jim Hearn, of the
Irish, for their display of fisti-
cuffs late in the second period.
The third period saw both clubs
settle down and play good fast
hockey, with only two minor
penalties being called, both to
Lucan, Of the 22 penalties hand-
ed out in the game, Zurich drew
12 and Lucan 10.
The next game at home for
the locals is this Sunday after-
noon at 2 p. m, when they en-
tertain the Lambeth Flyers. Lam-
beth handed the Dominions their
last elefeat before their five -
game undefeated streak, and the
locals will be out for revenge
in this game. On Friday night
the Dominions visit Exeter and
take on the first -place Hawks.
