DECEMBER, 1919
Beans are moving rather slowly
with little or no demand. Buyers
here are paying $3.50 for No. 1
beans. There have been a few
sales.
Huron County Council proposes
to make the Lake Road a Pro-
vincial County Road next year.
This road in Bruce and Lambton
counties had been assumed as
such a road and Huron County
will likely do the sante. Hay
will receive 60 percent towards
maintenance of the Sauble Line
in this township.
Business is like a wheelbarrow,
it stand still unless someone
pushes it.
Amos Keys has purchased the
100 -acre farm of Wm. Cole -
lough on the Parr Line, and Mr.
Colelough has purchased the
farm of William Dennison ad-
joining the village of Varna.

DECEMBER, 1929
Among those who attended the
Winter Fair the past week are:
F. C. Kalbfleisch, Alf Pfaff,
Ted Haberer, Jacob Deichert and
Gordon Surerus.
Mr. Newell Geiger, who is
attending Toronto University
spent the weekend at his home
here, also attending the funeral
of his grandmother, Mrs. S.
Rannie.
Thomas Richardson of Chisel-
hurst has disposed of his interests
in the farms there and moved
into the village and is now re-
siding with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Richardson.
Miss Gladys Guenther, R.N.
who has been in care of her
grandmother, Mrs. S. Rennie,
for some weeks left on Wednes-
day for Preston, where she is
nursing in a hospital.

DECEMBER, 1944
The funeral of the late Sam-
uel Deitz was held last Thursday
afternoon, with service at the
home, followed by interment
in the Bronson Line Evangelical
cemetery.
At a recent auction sale of the
real estate of Mrs, Annie Des-
jardine the dwelling property
in Zurich was purchased by Mr.
Moses Gerber, while the property
on the Blue Water Highway near
Bayfield, was purchased by a
Mr. Badour.
Mr. and Mrs. John MacBeth
of Kippen have moved into the
dwelling they recently purchased
from the Howard Estate and are
getting nicely settled.
Misses Shirley Smith and Shir-
ley Guenther spent the weekend
with friends in Exeter.

The Dashwood village nom-
ination meeting was held on
Monday, November 29. The
three trustees, Mr. James Hayter,
Clifford Salmon and Harold Web-
er were returned to office by
acclamation,
Mr. Gordon Rau of Detroit was
a visitor with his mother; Mrs,
J. P, Rau of Town, last Thursday
Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.A.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jeffrey of
near Blake, have returned fro,m
a very pleasant trip to Windsor,
Detroit, and Royal Oak, Mich.

Canada, and are visiting at the
present time at the home of

Fisher.
