this week by bus for Florid,
where they will spend the winter
months.
Ed (Buck) Little, Hensall, was
the lucky winner of a $500.
draw prize at the Clinton Kins-
men stag party last Friday.
Mrs. Earl Gass is a patient in
Victoria Hospital, London.
Ernie Chipchase is a patient
in Seaforth Conttuunity Ilospital.
John Skea was the lucky win-
ner of $100, in a draw at Lond-
esboro.
Wayne Smith is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
HI -C FELLOWSHIP
The Hi -C Fellowship of the
United Church are asking con-
gregational participation in a
special help project they are

Obituary
MRS. WILLIAM MACKINNON
Mrs. William P. MacKinnon
of London, passed away in Vic-
toria Hospital, London, on
Friday, November 28, in her
26th year. The former Mary E.
Shaw, she was the daughter of
Mr. and Ivirs. George Shaw, Ex-
eter.
Surviving are her husband,
former Hensall native; her par-
ents; one sister Christena, Bur-
lington; one brother, George
Shaw Jr., Exeter.
Funeral service was held
Monday from the Needham
Memorial Chapel, London, with
the Rev. William Weir of Knox
Presbyterian Church, Stratford,
formerly of Hensall, officiating.
Committal was in Avondale
cemetery, Stratford.
The late Mrs. MacKinnon was
the daughter-in-law of Mrs.
Janet MacKinnon, of Hensall.

CARMEL WOMEN
The Women's Missionary Soc-
iety of Carmel Presbyterian Ch-
urch held their Christmas meet-
ing, Monday evening, December
L in the Sunday school roost,
with eighteen meltbers and
house helpers present. President
Airs. R. A. Orr opened with a
Christmas verse following with
Christmas carols with Mrs. Ed
Munn, pianist.
Members answered the roll
call with a participation towards
the program of the meeting.
Mrs. Archie lIoggarth offered
prayer. -Visits were made to
O 19 sick and shut-ins by all mem-
bers.
Mrs. Orr spoke on " The Littl-
est Coin", one penny a mouth
or no more or no less for a per-
son taking part. The president
also brought the wee knitted
shirt she made for the under-
privilaged children of other
countries. More members offered
to try knitting some.
Arrangements were made to
meet Mondy, December 15, at
Mrs. Orr's to help pack Christ-
mas packages of goodies for
shut-ins.
Next meeting will be held on
January 8, Thursday at 2 p.m,
Mrs. Harvey Hyde and Mrs.
llarold Bell are giving the dev-
otional and study. Roll call will
be a New Years resolution,

Severs members from llensall
Legion Ladies Auxiliary, in
conjunction with Exeter Aux-
iliary entertained veterans at
Westminster Ilospital, London,
on Wednesday evening, Novem-
ber 26. Bingo was played for
entertainment and prizes were
given. Attending from Hensall
Auxiliary were Mrs. Gordon
Munn, Mrs. Clarence Reid, Mrs.
Garnet Bisback, Mrs. William
Swale, Mrs. Mary Taylor, Mrs.
Harry Horton and Mrs. E. R.
Davis.
EUCHRE PARTY
The C. P T. committee of
Amber Rebekah Lodge sponsored
a euchre in the Lodge Hall,
Wednesday evening, and the
winners were; ladies, Mrs. Eliz-
abeth Riley, Mrs. Nancy Kyle;
gents, Alex McBeath, Harold
Rowe, Exeter; lone hands, Glenn
Only One Man
Seeks Wardens'hip
Only one ratan has announced
his intentions ro run for the
wardenship of Huron County in
1970. Thar man is Roy Westcott,
reeve of Usborne Township and
1969 chairman of the property
committee.
Two other reeves, Elgin Thorp•
son of Tuckersmith and A, D.
Smith of Turnberry had been
mentioned. However Thompson
indicated earlier in November
that he would be out of the
running because of a time-con-
suming position in connection
with the fall fairs of this district
and Smith will not return to
county council in January.
In his parting words to council,
Warden James Hayter said Friday
afternoon at the final session
for 1969 that he bad enjoyed his
year as top administrator in the
county.
He said he still has not decided
whether or not he will return in
1970 as reeve of Stephen Town-
ship although he still has one
year to go of a two year tern of
office.
In view of the fact that some
municipalities are switching to
two year terns, the warden
added, perhaps council should
give some thought to setting up
county council committees for
two year terms as well.
He even suggested that the

Seaforth, Blue Water Rest ]tome,
Zurich; Huronview; Queensway
Nursing Horne, Hensall, and
shut-ins in the village.
This is an annual project of
this club.
