The Zurich Dominions and
Exeter Hawks battled through
almost thirty minutes of score-
less hockey on Sunday aftaernoon,
before penalties finally took
their toll for rhe locals and the
visitors pumped in two quick
goals. They added their final
marker to make the score 3-0
midway through the third period.
Both teams played cautious
hockey in the first session, feel-
ing each other out carefully' in
their first meeting of the season.
They were plenty of close calls
at both ends of the arena, but
neither team managed to score.
Zurich picked up four penalties
in the period, compared to five
for Exeter.
In the second period the Dom-
inions started running into stupid
penalties and at one time they
had four men in the penalty box
at one time with minors. The y
weathered the storm throughout
the four penalties, but then a
major to Shane McKinnon proved
to be their downfall, as the Hawk
rifled two quick goals past Gary
Geoffrey, in the Zurich nets,
eleven seconds apart. At this
point the Hawks picked up two
minor penalties at one time, but
the Zurich crew failed to dent
the twine while they had the big
advantage.
A total of eight penalties were
called against the Dominions in
the second period, compared to
three for Exeter. Brian Camp-
bell and John Braid scored for
the Hawks.
Penalties continued to take
their toll in the third period, as
the visitors rapped in their third
goal of the game while the lo-
cals were short-handed. Joe
O'Rourke scored for the Hawks.
The Dominions picked up five
more penalties in the third to
run their game total to 17, com-
pared to 11 for the Hawks.
John Loader, a former mem-
ber of the Goderich Junior B team
made his first appearance in a
Zurich uniform following his
certificate beinapproved by
the executive of
the OHA, and
played a strong game for the
locals. Glenn Gascho filled in
for Gary Geoffrey in the Zurich
nets during the last part of the
third period, after Geoffrey had
pulled a muscle in his leg.
There were three casualties
at the game, with two of them
being spectators who were hit
with pucks, and the third an
Exeter player, Mike Hoy, who
suffered pulled shoulder muscles
when he was given a stiff body
check by Zurich defenceman
Bruce Schoenhals.

Closed Circuit TV
Now Used In
Classrooms
A mobile closed-circuit tele-
vision system has brought farm
tours to the classroom. Students
no longer need spend a whole
day in pouring rain, trudging
through muddy fields, to observe
farming at first hand. Instead,
a filmed tour, highlighting a
particular operation, comes
right to the student. Valuable
classroom hours, once spent in
travel, are now saved. Seasonal
farm practices are preserved for
off- season viewing.
This closed-circuit television
system was devised by the Agr-
icultural Engineering Division
of the Kemptville College of
Agricultural Technology, and
is under the supervision of John
Clark, head of the Division.
From a small beginning two and
one-half years ago, the closed-
circuit system is now used about
twenty hours a week.
The system is used in several
ways. Many Lectures are given
under the television spotlight
and monitors in the classrooms
give students a ringside view.
Seeds, carburetor parts, designs
in fabric - all can be shown un-
der a camera and are seen clear-
ly on the monitors.
Videotapes of farm tours, home
economics demonstrations and
student speeches and presentat-
ions can be shown on the circuit
and have proved to be valuable
in maintaining student interest
and awareness of the subject
under discussion.
The story of the College,
which is operated by the Ontario
Department of Agriculture and
Food, was recently shown on the
system of off -campus groups at
meetings and winter fairs.
Mr. Clark, who does most of
the film work himself, believes
the potential of this system is
enormous and that exploitation
of CCTV has hardly begun.

a 2-1 lead.
Mike Anderson scored the only
goal of the second period for
Lucan to tie the game at 2-2.
At the 6.37 mark of the third
period Ron Corriveau scored from
Mustard to give the Dominions
what looked like the winning
goal. But a little over a minute
later the roof fell in for the Zur-
ich team as Dave Revington bang,
ed in two more goals, in just
13 seconds, to give the Irish a
4-3 lead. Two insurance goals
by Gord Hardy and Ken Needham
clinched the game for Lucan.
