to the opening of their schedule.

the Flyers will play host to the
Crediton Tigers in the Zurich

wood, while Bill Chipchase,

Dicl< Bedard, Earl Wagner and
George Suplat each scored once.
Glenn Overholt scored three of
the Dashwood goals, with the
other being banged in by Bill
Schade.
The Flyers took a 3-0 lead in
the first period, in front of ste-
llar netminding on the part of
Rick Jeffrey in the local's net.
In the second they increased
their lead to 5-2, and then in
the third period each team scor-
ed three goals.
Heavy hitting and rough play
throughout the game almost
made it seem like a playoff con-
test between the two clubs. Nine
penalties were called against
Dashwood, while Zurich picked
up five.
Last Saturday night the Till-
sonburg Intermediate B entry
visited Zurich for an exhibition
game, and went home with a
resounding 19-4 victory.
A highlight of the game was
the appearance of Jerome Geo-
ffrey in the Tillsonburg goal.
A former Zurich minor hockey
star, he now lives and works in
Tillsonburg, and played for
the intermediate entry in that
town.
Bill Chipchase sparked the
Zurich attack in a losing effort
against the strong southern entry,
as he slapped in two goals. Scott
Burton and Jimm Pfaff each re-
gistered one.
Huron County Board of Education
Lets Contract For All 'Insurance
(by Richmond Atkey)
W.H. Hodgson Limited, Exeter
was awarded contract for supply-
ing insurance coverage on Board
property by Huron County Board
of Education at its meeting in
Central Huron Secondary School,
Clinton last week, at a total
figure of $22, 631. This compared
with $40, 099 in 1968.
The tender was made in behalf
of the Perth Huron Independent
Insurance Agents' Association.
Dale and Company will act as
a broker for the Hodgson firm
and pay a commission to it. The
group includes 29 out of 35 in-
surance agents in Huron County.
The Board took the advice of
its consulting firm H.E. Hartley
Consultants Limited, Scarborougt
" The tender introduced a mucl:
broader insurance program and
reduced the premium 44 per
cent, from the existing premium
H.E. Hartley informed the Board,
This extremely low cost will
only be held if the Huron Board's
own losses are controlled. We
prefer to see the fire and all
risk insurance spread among a
number of insurance companies."
Details of the five tenders
submitted were: Fire $100 de-
ductible): Dale and Hodgson,
$10, 150 as compared with $14,
463 last year. Other tenders
were: Reed, $11, 907: Shore, $15,
781; Cowan, $13, 778; Dale, $10,
150; Hodgson, $10, 952.
All risk ($100 deductible):$1,
050, as against $3, 231 in 1968;

Extra expense: Dale and Hod-
gson, $800; (new insurance this
year); Reed $713; Shore, $1, 129;
Cowan $307; Dale $800; Hodgson
$1, 086.
Boilers: $1, 636; last year, $2,
908; Reed $1, 636; Shore $1, 636,

Hodgson, $1, 845. Crime: $1, 075;

pared with $4, 727 in 1968; Reed
$3, 497, Dale, $4, 290; Shore,
$3, 684; Cowan $3, 266; Hodgson,
$1, 335.
In connection with the auto-
mobile insurance premium, Mr.
Hartley noted that the Hodgson
premium of $1, 335 represents
a premium of only $34.23 per
bus, which he believed was quot-
ed in error, possibly the collision
premium only. The agent had
advised, however, that this pre-
mium would stand.
Liability: $1, 417, as against
$3, 966 last year; Reed, $1, 430;
Shore, $325; Cowan, $2, 164;
Dale, $1, 400; Hodgson, $1, 417.
Accident: $168; last year, $842;
Reed, $234; Shore, $350; Cowan
$140; Hodgson, $168.
Workmen's Compensation:
$5, 000, as against $9, 000; Reed.
no tender; Shore, $7, 500; Cowan
$5, 000; Dale, $6, 000; Hodgson,
$5, 000.
Total tenders under the above
headings worked out as follows:
Dale and Hodgson, lowest tender
$22, 631: Reed (without quotation
on workmen's compensation);
$22, 006: Shore $31, 614; Cowan,
$29;174: Dale, $26, 541; Hod-
gson, $25, 461.
The Board also accepted the
recommendation of the Hartley
consulting firm that "due to the
$250 deductible and the fact
that only 53, 000 of 1, 152, 000
suare feet of floor area is over
20 years old, we feel that Dale's
$3, 800 premium for optional
extensions for glass,falling object
water escape, collapse from
weight of snow, is excessive,
and do not recommend that the
Board purchase these extensions
at this time,"
Clarence McDonald, Exeter,
chairman of the Insurance Com-
mittee, pointed out that 29 out
of the 35 insurance offices in
the County of Huron had joined
with the Hodgson firm in its
tender; the other six had refused
to join the Perth Huron Indep-
endent Insurance Agents' Assoc-
iation.
