MILK DELIVERY -In Switzerland milk is still delivered with a horse and rig to most homes
and places of business, and this vehicle was caught by the cameraman on the main street
of Berne. The man sitting on the wagon is Ory Wallis, of Watford, one of the three men
who accompanied the Citizens News photographer in the travels throughout Europe. The
milk is dipped out of the large cans and measured when it is delivered to a customer.

Tuckersmith Adopt
Hensall Fire Pact
(continued from page 1)
attended by members of the
kiensall council,
The six -hour session did not end
until 2:30 a.m. but saw accept-
ance of the township offer of
$7, 000 toward the cost of a new
Hensall fire engine. Under the
pact, Tuckersmith will pay by
the hour for each fireman every
time there is a call from Tuck-
ersmith. The cost will be $5 for
the first hour to each man who
attends the fire or answers the
alarm and $3 per hour after that
for five or six men or the num-
ber deemed by the Hensall chief
to be needed. Tuckersmith will
also contribute one-third of main
tenance costs.
The fire department will be
controlled by a three-man com-
mittee. Hensall will name two
members of the panel, Tucker -
smith the third. Ross Forrest of
R.R. 2, Kippen, is the first Tuck-
ersmith appointee.
The former agreement between
the two municipalities ended
September 30. It called for a
flat rate of $500 paid by the
township to Hensall for protect-
ing a portion of Tuckersmith.
Hay Township is still unwilling
to enter an agreement with Hen-
sall and is reportedly negotiating
with the Brucefield brigade for
protection of the northeast cor-
ner of the township.
