Mr. and Mrs. Julius Bloch have
moved from Hensall and are
occupying their home vacated
by Mr. F.B. Colles.
Pte. Elmer Datars son of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Datars, 14th
concession returned home from'
overseas a few days ago.
Thursday, October 2, was a
gala day for the boys and girls
of Dashwood and bommunity,
that dabeing the date of their
first School Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Casper Walper
visited Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Sararas, of Mitchell, on Thurs-
day. Mr. Sararas is in very poor
health. •

OCTOBER 1929
Quite a number attended the
Robinson- Turner nuptials in
Clinton on Saturday afternoon.
Rev. Fr. L. Power, and Mr.
Chas Hagan motored to Parkhill
on Monday where Fr. Power de-
livered a very suitable sermon
at the Forty Hours Devotion, at
that place.
Mr, Ervin Schilbe, who has
been at Toronto for a time, is
spending a few days at his home
here.
Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Oesch,
accompanied Mr. Mrs. Susie
Oesch and family, spent the
weekend with friends in Milver-
ton.
Mr. Albert Keys has sold his
fine 100 -acre farm, being lot
23, N. B. Concession Hay, to
Mr. Leon Jeffrey, Jr. of Blake,
whose dwelling was recently
destroyed by fire. Possession
will be given in November.

L.E. Cardiff, well-known
Morris Township farmer and
present Federal member for
North Huron, was nominated
to carry the banner for the
Progressive Conservative party
in that riding the next Federal
election.

grieved to learn over the week-
end that Mrs. Barbara Surerus of
Zurich had received word that
her youngest son, Pte. Clare
Donald Surerus, was killed in
action in France on September
l'7.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edighoffer
and son Grant have left for Brant-
ford for the winter months where
the latter will attend college.
Mrs. Minnie Sangster, of Hen-
sall has been advised through •
the Red Cross that her son, Flt. -
Sgt. Douglas Sangster, is a
prisoner of war in. Germany and
guite ill.

winners of the Oral Speaking
contest at Zurich Fall Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Baech-
ler and daughters, residents of
the Bronson line, Hay, have
moved their effects to their
home in town formerly owned
by Mrs. Eekstein.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bedard,
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Corriveau
and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Jeffrey
of this neighbourhood motored
to Detroit on Friday last to
attend the funeral of the late
Mrs. Willard Ducharme of that
city.
Mr. and Mrs. Moses Haist of
Pigeon, Michigan visited over
the weekend at the home of
their nice Mr. and Mrs. Harry
G. Hess and friends at Crediton.

Mr. and Mrs. William Thiel,
Zurich, celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary on Sunday,
and a large number of friends,
relatives and neighbours called
on them.
Born in Clinton Public Hospital
on Thursday, September 24, 1959
to Mr. and Mrs. James Bedard,
Zurich, a son.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Zaphe, and
Glen spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Parke
and Susan.
Edwin Gascho, Earl Yungblut,
Clare Geiger, Art Haist, and

REPORT
During the weel< of September
21 to 27, the Exeter detachment
of the Ontario Provincial Police
investigated four accidents in
which four people were injured.
On Sunday, September 21,
Provincial Constable E,C.Wil-
cox investigated a two -car col-
lision that occurred on No. 21
Highway, 1 mile north of junc-
tion Highway No. 83 (Brewster)
at 2:55 p.m. Involved in the
collision was a vehicle driven
by Ronald Crich, R.R,1 Clinton,
and a vehicle driven by Robert
Love, R. R. 2 Thed ford, Dam age
estimated at $1000. 00. No in-
juries.
On Friday, September 26, Pro-
vincial Constable J. A . Wright
investigated a two -car collision
that occurred on No. 81 Highway
one mile east of Grand Bend,
at 2:50 13.m. betweena vehicle
driven by Frank Irwin, R.R. 3
Parkhill, and a vehicle driven
by Wayne Richard Baldwin of
R. R, 3, Cottam, Ontario. Dam -
