Harvest thanksgiving service
was held in St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Hensall, Sunday, Oct-
ober 6. the church was lovely
decorated with flowers, fruit
and vegetables. Rev. Bren de
Vries, of Hespeler, former rec-
tor, was guest speaker. The
choir sang an anthem, "Give
Thanks", under the direction of
Mrs. F. Forrest.
Mrs. Agnes Williams, of San
Bernardino, Calf. is visiting with
her sister and brother- in- law
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Campbell.
Mrs. Bertha Jinks has returned
after a visit last week spent with
Mr. and Mrs, Ross Jinks, Gail
and Billy, and Miss Susan Jinks,

of London.
Approximately 12 to 15 ladies
frons Hensall along with Clinton
ladies, took a bus trip to Ayhiue>;
St. Thomas, and Port Burwell
on Tuesday, October 7. The trip
was organize. by Mrs. Wilfred
Colclough, of Clinton.
Miss Sylvia Henderson, who has
been on a six months tour of
Europe, and her brother, John
Henderson, on a three weeks
vacation in Ireland and England,
arrived home on Sunday.
Chiselhurst United Church
observed anniversary services
Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with
a large congregation. Rev.
Harold F. Currie conducted the
service and introduced Rev,
Douglas Warren BABD, of Cred-
iton, who delivered a very in-
spiring message. Eric Ross was
guest soloist. Saxaphone duets
were rendered by Messrs Murray
Christie and Aldon Allan of
Staffa area. The choir, assisted
by Mr. and Mrs, Harry Horton,
rendered an anthem. Mrs. Alfred
Ross presided at the piano.
Four Presbyterian ladies, namely
Mrs. Gordon Schwalm, Mrs, J.E.
McEwen, Mrs, Al I -lo Barth and
Mrs. R.A. Orr, attended the
workshop held at Westminster
Presbyterian Church at Paisley
on Thursday of last week.

20 Ladies Receive 20 -Year Jewels
Noble grand Mrs, Earl Camp-
bell presided for the meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge, Wednes-
day evening, October 1, the
occasion being the presentation
of twenty-year veterans jewels
to twenty members of the Lodge,
by past district deputy president
Mrs. Mary Lowe, Brussels.
Those who received jewels were
Mrs. Garfield Broderick; Mrs.
Glenn Bell; Mrs. Edna Caldwell;
Melvin Orr Jr., of Wiarton, visit-
ed with Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Orr
recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Pefers-
Gagel, Goderieh, Mr. and Mrs.
D.M. Dodds and family, Sea -
forth, were Sunday visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Sint Roobol,
Bill Hoy, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Hoy has joined the Armed
Forces and leaves for Cornwallis
N. S. October 25, to begin a nine
weeks basic training.

Next meeting October 16, in-
stallation of officers will be held,
Mrs, Margaret Bowra of Goderich
and installing staff will install
the incoming officers for 1969-
'70 with Goderieh Lodge as
guests.
Members volunteered to canvass
for the CNIB drive later.
Cards were sent to shut-in
members and Mrs. Harold Park-
er and Mrs. Leona Parke will
visit residents at Queensway
Nursing Home this month.
Bingo was played, and lunch
served.
