The Dashwood W . I, resumed
their regular schedule of meet-
ings with the first meeting in
charge of the Historical Research
and Current Events group with
Mrs. Lenard Schenk convener.
Roll call was "An old fashioned
custom you would like to see
either discarded or kept".
Fifteen members and one visit-
or was present for the contest
for new members. Mrs. Irvin
Rader discussed the motto;
People like fire, take on new
brightness if you stir them up a
bit, A panel show followed
patterned after "Act Fast" deal-
ing with current and past events.
The Tweedsmuir History book
was on display and Mrs. Leon-
ard Schenk showed the correct
method of putting in invisible
zippers.
Mrs. Howard Maier, president,
dealt with the business. Mrs.
Eben Weigand and Mrs. Stuart
Wolfe are in charge of the dis-
play at Exeter Fair. A bake
sale and lunch counter will be
held at the next ball game. A
short course "Fashion Cues for
You" will be held in April. The
West Huron Rally will be held
October 6. The Institute now
has a new girl to sponsor in India
as Sara Chacko has been adopted

The Zurich Women's Institute
will hold their historical re-
search meeting on Tuesday,
September 16, leaving the
Township Hall at 2:30 for the
Eisenbach Museum at Grand
Bend. Each member is to bring
a friend.
A total of 82 persons donated
their blood at a Red Cross Blood
Donors Clinic in the Zurich
Community Centre, on Monday
night.
Queen brought the meeting to
a close.
The 4-H girl club No. 2 for
needlecraft with Mrs. Leonard
Schenk and Mrs. Glen Webb,
leaders, and 13 girls held their
organization meeting Monday
September 8. The leaders
discussed the project with the
girls. Officers elected are
president, Adrienne Van Raay,
vice-president, Janice Hayter;
secretary, Janice Tiem an.

Salary Schedule

drivers be paid $170 per month.
Each bus driver will be allowed
ten days' sick leave per year for
which the hoard would pay re-
placement driver at the rate of
$8.50 per day. At the end of
the school year, each of these
will be paid a bonus of $8.50
per day for the unused balance
of his ten days' sick leave.
It was also decided that bus
drivers be paid $2.25 per hour
with a minimum of $5 per trip
for driving buses on which pupils
are being taken on field trips.
Recommendation of Robert
M. MacVean, chief engineer
of the board, in connection with
salaries paid to engineers, was
accepted, but no further infor-
mation was provided.
For all non -teaching employees,
the board will pay 56 per cent of
the premium for a group term
life insurance policy in the
amount of $10, 000 for male
employees and $5, 000 for female
employees.

staffs, librarian assistant, and
audio-visual aid technicians,
was not contained in the formal
report but was made in commit-
tee of the whole at the last
meeting of the board. This in-
formation will be available at
the next board meeting on
September 15.
On recommendation of com-
mittee of the whole, the board
ratified hiring Mrs. June Cooper
as clerk -typist (purchasing and
service) at $70 per week, and
Miss Joan Garvie for the upcom-
ing term at the F.E. Madill
Secondary School, Wingham, at
the salary range of $90 to $95
per week. It also approved that
Mr. Moffatt, custodian at J. A. D,
McCurdy Public School, Huron
Park, Centralia be dismissed as
soon as possible; and that two
custodians be hired, one to have
mechanical or boiler -room
experience.

at Dashwood Community park

and sports were conducted by Mr.
and Mrs. Wendell Gamble,
Winners were: 6 and under,
Kim Gamble; throw peanuts,
Sandra Coleman; potatoe walk,
Sandra Weiberg; carry peanuts
Neil Gamble; thumb press,
Albert Rader; blow peanuts,
Sharon Rader; husband call,
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader; most
clothes pins, Lloyd Rader; break
balloon, Kim Gamble; peeling
orange, Mrs. Gien Rader and
Wayne Weiberg; Longest apple
peel, Mrs. Leonard Prang,
mystery package, Dianne Rader.
Several special prizes were also
awarded. Closest to 78, Mrs.
Rose Laub; most recently marr-
ied Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rader;
birthdays closest together, Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Rader; guessing
number of tooth hicks in a box,
Mrs. Ivan Taylor; most silver
in purse, Mrs. Garnet Weiberg;
most different letters in name,
Mrs. Garnet Weiberg.
The picnic will be next
year Labour DaySunday with
the following oficers in charge:

president Albert Rader; secretary
treasurer, Mrs. Gien Rader; sports
committee Mr. and Mrs. Ivan
Taylor; table convenor, Mrs.
Garnet Weiberg.
Mr, and Mrs. Harold Schroeder
and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Schroeder
flew to Edmonton, Alberta,
where they attended the Brugle-
mann- Schroeder wedding. The
bride is their niece. They also
visited relatives at Windthorst.
Mrs. Lloyd Howe, Mary -Jo and
Shelley of London spent the
week -end with Mr. and Mrs.
Irvin Rader and family.
